i promise you the old star wars movies are amazing. im 23 watched them at 17 thinking these are gonna be old n something ill have to just get through to see how good it is but omg it was sooooo good better than andor for me

Kieron Lee

Love the reaction. you guys were right, Ghor language was made up, but all the actors for Ghorman were French, so they speak with the accent. P.O.R.D. (Public Order Resentencing Directive) is the Imperial law that Mon Mothma was trying to cancel. It was created after the Aldhani heist and made any crime against the Empire a Class One offence, leading to harsh, extended prison sentences and more prisoners. This law led to Andor’s arrest on Niamos and the prison arc in Season 1. Supervisor Heert, the twink who is now leading the hunt for Axis, was Dedra Meero’s assistant in Season 1. It seems like he was promoted to fill Supervisor Blevin's position, Blevin was Dedra’s rival who was originally responsible for the Morlana Sector and Ferrix. It was never confirmed, but people believe Blevin was blamed for the Ferrix incident, possibly set up by Dedra, since the security forces that escalated the funeral march were originally installed by Blevin before Dedra was reassigned to Ferrix. Others think it was because the actor was busy, but still, nothing was confirmed.

I mean yeah the dad was a mechanic too and he's litterally making that bomb in 1.12 with his hologram on the table

I love you guys' reactions so much

Patrick Walsh

Guys the original star wars trilogy is definitely worth seeing, they aren't the same tone as Andor, but star wars became a cultural goliath for a reason, they are still very good.

neatguySteve

Same this show is my new obsession! But i don't think they will considering it, it's a short show and they already have so many i don't think they'll add a new one in a while... Plus it's a not a show i can see winning a poll here anyway, even though, LM have said they would love to watch more romance.

petitcorbeau

Saw is strongly on the side of the rebellion against the empire. Hes been fighting in the trentches for a long time. Since the beginning. Without giving any spoilers lets say hes on the edge and because of that its very hard to work with him. He has an interesting way of rallying his troops. Yes, rydhonium is some sort of fuel and Saw loves it.

Mate

I mean, I like Clone Wars, but I honestly think there's probably better stuff out there for them to watch. Filoni trying to connect all the series has become a little annoying to me because now you kinda have to watch all these shows if you want to finish some characters' stories. Plus of course they'd need to watch the movies first to get Clone Wars, and I don't think that's happening any time soon.

I'm not sure where to suggest other new shows for you to react to, so if there is somewhere specific that I should post this I apologize, but I would love to see you react to Heated Rivalry!

"There's no part of him that's gonna feel bad or question anything that he's doing because he's so devoted to the empire because he thinks he's being useful to them" Oof, that really hurt me to hear you say that, because that doesn't ring true at all. Syril is motivated less by ideology than by a craving for moral clarity and personal significance. He wants the universe to make sense: crimes have perpetrators, rules have meaning, and someone like him should be rewarded for noticing that. He doesn’t love the Empire as an idea. He loves what it promises him personally: identity, respect, and moral elevation. That’s why he keeps acting even when the system repeatedly humiliates him. The chase (Cassian, order, meaning) matters more than success. And that's why he's so different from Dedra. Dedra’s devotion is functional, not emotional. The Empire is the only framework she recognizes as legitimate, so preserving it is synonymous with doing her job well. She doesn’t need to be seen as morally good - only effective. To say Syril "is not gonna feel bad or question anything" is demonstrably false. He's not some sadist who can't see right from wrong. Even though he doesn’t question the Empire, he questions himself CONSTANTLY. I will quote someone from a youtube video of another reaction: he’s a man outsourcing morality upward. I love this quote because it's a perfect description of his character.

AndyB

Yeah when I first watched it, I had the same experience.

BigJo H

The Ghorman language sounds so teasingly close to French, my brain keeps saying "Why can't I understand this?" and by the time it gives up the subtitles have passed. 😂

Berezant

Grand Moff Tarkin Remember the name 👀

Daniel Molina

I didn’t know the context of those gestures. Thank you for that information.

No spoilers, please

Milena and Lola, since you watch a lot of anime, I want to to make a future recommendation... The only Star Wars project I love more than Andor, Rogue One and the first movie is the animated Clone Wars series. Not only is it an amazing story on its own. I think it's key to understanding some of the most important characters in the larger Star Wars universe.

MGH

Maybe one thing to add: As Saw says here, Rhydo is also apparently toxic/dangerous to breath in if you breath too much of it.

Biberius Caldius Mero

Tony Gilroy explained that scene between Cassian and Bix where they were doing some kind of ritual at the end. When Maarva brought Cassian to Ferrix, he didn’t speak the common language (as we saw in the flashbacks on Kenari they all spoke a different language). Bix was one of his first friends and this was a ritual that the two of them made to communicate with each other until Cass learned the language.

My Toasty Toast

fyi Syril here doesn't know the full plan. The one managing the Axis investigation was Dedra's attendant. He's been promoted and now that Dedra was "seemingly" demoted to work on Ghorman, Heertz shows no appreciation to his former boss (Dedra). Their conversation definitely shows a cut throat work rivalry of sort between them.

JustAMeloPancake

For context: Cassian & Bix are living in a safehouse on Coruscant. It's the Galactic Capital and one of the most important planets in Star Wars. Same planet that Mon Mothma (as a Senator), Luthen, Kleya, Syril, and Dedra spend most of their time on. The ENTIRE planet is covered in 5,000+ layers of cityscape (an Ecumenopolis) and has been the political center of the galaxy for over 25,000 years. Cassian & Bix are basically hiding right under the Empire's nose.

Doc_Holliday

They never explain in the show but I’m pretty sure it’s Will’s father who taught him. Also the Machine Will is using is to get fuel I’m pretty sure, it’s just dangerous because if you fail it explodes and kills everyone

Sam

Wanted to give some context on where cass and bix are living now. They live on the planet Corusant which is the capital of the Empire, and it’s a ecumenopolis, a planet covered by an entire city. The planet has many levels to it going to I think 2,000. The people who can see the sun are typically wealthy people. You might ask that it could be very risky to live and operate out of the capital of the empire, but the population of Coruscant is in the trillions, hiding among the vast amount of people can provide great cover. And just to recap this is where the senate building is and Luthens shop and where the ISB is (Deidra’s branch of the imperial machine)

Jack Gagliano

I really enjoyed Wilmons arc in this 3 episode run. Forrest Whittaker really made Saw Garrera come to life, he’s captivating in every scene.

Darrach

Also regarding what Willmon has borught I am not an expert in Star Wars lore but I know my fair share so I will try to explain. Basically he has brought a machine that can steal Rhydonium which like gas/oil for the ships. Depending on the station they plan to hit to take Rhydonium (or Rhydo for short) there is a different combination that has to be memorized and excecuted. Failing that, Rhydo is a very volatile and a leak and even a small friction can blow up and kill several in its radius. Anyone that wants to add/correct me, please do!

Happy New Year girls and Merry Christmas in Serbia! Funny thing is the same day it's Christmas there is my name day here! (hooray for me) Another very good episode, love the way the actors make you feel how time has passed and the weight of all the things that they had done in between is wearing them down. One thing that Andor does really well is that it doesn't talk down to its audience but trusts its intelligence and believes you will catch the gaps. I think it works. The Main thing this episode is doing is introducing Ghorman aka space France. As othe comenters noted they had a language closely resembling French phonetics (remember trying to understand this thinking this is so close to French). Very good call on Lola saying that this is inspired by the French resistence during WW2 the costumes also remind of that of the 30s-40s. Loved the production of the city and the little gestures and customs, gives you a feel of a unique culture that the empire wants to wipe out. On a sidenote I love how they refer to everyone in the public assembly as "cityzen" a thing that was widely done in the French Revolution. Syrill is such a fascinating little pathetic character. There are several points where you can see a more descent human being but his need to please the empire (which represents masculinity but also feminine acceptance through Dedra) is so deep that he becomes their stooge.

broken king

I'm fascinating how much less competent the Trump administration is compared to the Galactic Empire. If Andor were trying to mimic the current situation, there would be the most paper thin propaganda campaign for a couple of months followed by a rapidly sundowning Emperor Palpatine just going directly on Imperial News and blurting out 'We're going to take the kalkite, okay? We're just there for the kalkite.'

Nubile Reptile

Bix's PTSD is front and center here, but it took me awhile to realize we also see Cassian's. It wasn't long ago that a simple trip to the store resulted in him being confronted by a cop, who then proceeded to arrest him on trumped up charges and send him away to become slave labor in an Imperial penal colony. He only escaped that fate through a mixture of luck and desperation, and he may well be one of the only survivors. So what do you know? He now gets jumpy and paranoid at the idea of a simple trip to the store.

Nubile Reptile

was i the only one refreshing the page

vinicius_rage_against_the_republica_of_bananas

Another slow burn episode, but very good nonetheless. The French Resistance in WWII parallel is deliberate. The show used French actors for the Ghorman populace, and the language is also deliberately similar to French. The final scene between Cassian and Bix wasn't a wedding ceremony, it was foreplay. Or, to not put it in a crude sexual context, it was a parting. They were saying goodbye before being separated. You two are very sharp. I'm always impressed at how well you catch what's happening correctly. To avoid spoilers, I won't detail where you may be wrong, which isn't often. You'll find out in future episodes, and I'm quite certain you'll catch on completely. It's much more likely you'll point out something that I've missed, and I've seen this show several times (I love it that much).

Joseph Olson

All deities and entities, we pray that you take care of these two as they enter these upcoming arcs. Spiritually, mentally, and emotionally please keep them well 🥹

Dean

I'm with a vendor that sometimes sells to government entities in Texas. I have had to fill out those forms many times.

Michael M

About the pledge of loyalty talk in the post discussion. Correct me if I’m wrong but in the us, 38 states have passed bills that require you to promise that you won’t boycott Israel if you’re working for the government

BigJo H

Reading the news today and it feels like I'm watching the episode "Ever Been to Greenland?"

Michael M

They've already said that they will. They know it's the de-facto last episode of this series so it's important to watch.

Michael M

Chamech we are absolutely getting a Lord of the Rings reaction even if it means super-glueing Milena to the chair. It’s practically a prophecy at this point

My Toasty Toast

I really hope you two watch rogue one once you’ve finished andor 🙏

James Anthony

and while starting my research I remembered you guys because there's a small part about political conflicts in the Balkans and I'm almost crying reading about it, it's so complicated 🥲 (I study political science)

Bernardo

completely unrelated to andor but i’m so sad you’ve seen lotr 😭😭 i always hoped one day we’d get a reaction 💕 also welcome to the best storyline in andor

chamech

Syril’s mom telling him to be less of an individual when all he wants is the contrary. And it’s ironic that the way he chose to do that was by working for a regime that wants nothing but cogs in their machine

BigJo H

Giving up on finishing my college work in 3, 2, 1....

Bernardo

you’re welcome ❤️

LM Reactions

Early but I'm at work... 💀💀💀 Well, at least I'm caught up so I can watch tonight
