2026-01-12 05:37:11 +0000 UTCMartin, my favorite side character in Monster and most tragic to me, right up there with Richard ๐ญ๐ I got so attached to him in so little time, it's not fair man ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ The way Eva is changed so much by him..... She quits drinking for good in honor of him, and she and Tenma have the kindest and most civilized interaction in.... possibly ever, all thanks to Martin's influence on her ๐ญ๐ I love how she worries over Tenma and wants to help him, truly for the first time, and the way they mourn Martin together; it's so touching how his presence and influence brings them together as friends, a closeness they never had when they were dating and Eva was her old self. The beautiful tragic irony of Tenma appearing to her at the train station after so long of her secretly yearning to be with him, only when he's at last no longer the person she actually wishes to see.... ;__; she and Martin deserved to be together, they impacted each other's lives so much for the better ๐One of the best and most underrated mini arcs in the series for me ๐ฅน
