Can someone please tell me what the show that shall not be named is? Thanks!

24:32 The "Ministry of Enlightenment" is a direct reference to the Nazi's RMVP - the "Reich Ministry for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda" (Reichsministerium für Volksaufklärung und Propaganda).
It was run by none other than... Joseph Goebbels.

Since you mention Stellan Skarsgård, and watch movies now, see Dune (the two new movies)!

It is fun to see them watch the closing in on the battle of Yavin that you have already seen including characters from this show that you have forgotten by now.
To why Andor steals a Tie Fighter in the beginning: It's less to use it and more to cancel it's production and learn about new empirial technologies, the Empires regular Tie Fighters are bound to big ships to travel between systems because they are to small to carry a hyper drive, also the weapons arsenal and no shielding make the Tie Fighters an easy target in an ambush, to spread terror the Empire needs weapons whenever, whereever and at a low cost, the rebels constantly try to stop that from happening by stealing Prototypes and sabotaging production lines.

TIE is short for Twin Ion Engine and is usually read as “tigh” or “tai”

So the meeting of the Imperials in this episode was inspired by the movie Conspiracy (2001) which dramatized the Wannsee Conference of 1942 where the Nazis sat down and planned the Final Solution in a manner just like we saw here

The set where the imperials are having their inner circle meeting is modeled directly off of The Eagle's Nest - Hitler's mountaintop retreat built for state functions, used by Nazis for entertaining VIPs and holding meetings.

Great reaction and analysis as always. Lola was right about hearing of Ghorman previously. During (I think?) a dinner party and a Senate scene in season 1, it was mentioned in passing that the Empire instituted a blockade around Ghorman, restricting their trade.

Sienar is where one of the megacorporate military contractors is based and named after (in the SW universe). The ship Cassian steals is supposed to be a TIE Avenger. It is more akin to the TIE Advanced and Tie Interceptor models, piloted by Darth Vader and higher ranks, and I think at least one of the ships pursuing Cassian in the chase sequence. The standard-issue TIE fighters, with simple straight square "wings" (which you saw in Aldhani) do not have protective force field "shields" nor have life support, and require pilots to wear a vacuum suit and helmet. You'll notice that the cabin has atmosphere that Cassian can breathe openly. Standard-issue TIE fighters also would indeed simply have exploded if they bumped into the cliff faces the way that Cass did, repeatedly.
The mishap in the launch bay is both an "easter egg" for players of the '90s era PC video game series by LucasArts that featured X-Wings and TIE Fighters, and also sort of an inside joke for the many players who were unaccustomed to flight simulators (and actual airplane piloting) where the controls are "inverted" - ie, when you pull the joystick "down" you are actually steering the craft "up". I think the "power down" sequence at the cliff edge is also an inside joke, as this was a phenomenon of the in-game ships when you did something wrong. (I forget exactly what the causes were, but I do remember the games required something like a dozen floppy disks to install, lol.)

DIRECTOR KRENNIC HAS ARRIVED. By far, my favorite character added in Disney canon. I think you two are gonna love/hate him, he is such a diva and the actor who plays him absolutely crushes the role.

Welcome to season 2 and good job on the reaction and analysis. As always very insightful.
I really think that in season two the Tony and the other writers and directors, had an even more confident bold and sometimes experimental approach that gives many episodes a very cinematic feel. A really good example is that gorgeous one shot scene of Mothma greeting everybody and moving thorough her estate, or the nightmare of Bix seen through dr Gorst's Point of view recognizing him through the mirror
Some small notes, first on the planet of Mina Rau where the Ferrix crew are, we can see the greenery contrasting the vast gold of the filds, indicating that the empire might have altered the ecology of the planet to make it a available for industrial scale agriculture.
Second, I am not the first to say that there are eerie similarities between the conference of the empire and the Wansee conference where the Nazis decided on the implementation of the final solution. I liked Lola's shout-out to the despicable UAE on Deedra's plan, I thought of the decades concerted effort of israel to prop Hamas against other groups, as the only Palestinian resistance, or how the US funded the Mujahedeen to 'fight communism' only to then be used as a reason to bomb and invade the middle east.

Everything about the conference about Ghorman feels so slimy and perfect. Them snacking as they talk around what they want to do to the planet. Dedra's comment about needing rebels who'll do the wrong thing. Krennic (cape guy) being fruity as fuck. It's all captivating

The only people I see hate on the Maya Pei stuff are the same people who thought a lot of the first season was "boring". Anything beyond eye candy and their favorite hero being badass takes too much effort for them to comprehend.

A lot of people dislike the scenes with the Maya Pei Brigade, but I enjoy the contrast between the chaos, incompetence and infighting they're plagued by and the cold, ruthless efficiency of the Imperials at Director Krennic's meeting. There's a vast gulf between having the will to resist a tyrannical government and putting together a movement organized and competent enough to do so effectively. The Rebel Alliance we see from the original films feels a very long way away at this point.
Per word of Tony Gilroy, Director Krennic's conference at the Maltheen Divide is directly inspired by the Wannsee Conference.
On January 20th 1942, at the direction of SS-Obergruppenführer Reinhard Heydrich, a number of senior government officials in Nazi Germany met in the Berlin suburb of Wannsee to discuss the implementation of the Final Solution to the Jewish Question. It wasn't where the decision to kill the Jews of Europe was made, but it was where the cooperation of much of the government bureaucracy in this goal was obtained. It's also one of the most infamous events of the Holocaust because a copy of the shorthand minutes of that meeting survived the war, letting us know exactly what was discussed.
There have been three movies dramatizing the Wannsee conference, two of them in German and one in English. The only one I've seen is the English language one from 2001, an HBO/BBC production called Conspiracy. Director Krennic's conference at the Maltheen Divide is a very obvious homage to that film, both in terms of the visuals but especially in terms of how it feels, with each featuring a group of bureaucrats in a fascist regime gathered around a table making casual conversation and enjoying the complementary drinks and hors d'oeuvres even as they go about the business of organizing a genocide.

When Andor S2 came out, we all feasted on the "3 episodes per week" model, never realizing it was all an elaborate ploy, turning us into greedy binge-watchers.
Now, we will finally pay for it...
