Would you rather the last experience you ever had with Bebop be the movie, or the final episode? I'm impossibly grateful that the movie came out and became my final adventure with Bebop.

The Challenger launch with the teacher was a huge event in schools across the country. They wheeled in a T.V to the classrooms and we saw it explode live. All after they told us all about the teacher to inspire us.

It seems like the consensus is that they're OK to watch the movie after the full series, but just to throw it out there, I really do think they'd benefit from watching it between eps 22-23.
Some scenes and dialogue in the movie bear directly on the show's overall themes, and even goes into a little bit of character depth that I think they'd appreciate. Even with the added runtime/budget, it tells a self-contained story that fits nicely into the episodic format.
Many of us probably saw the movie a year or more after the episodes. I think our nostalgia at the time gave the movie a special weight that wouldn't have translated the same way if we'd all watched it just a few days after the series, imo.

A perfect continuation to this show would be Samurai Champloo. They have the same director and I always considered them sister shows because of their themes.

You've called out how Spike is always quick to risk his life a few times, one of the last shots of the episode of him lightning up that cigarette with a carefree smile with "Whatever happens, happens" while everyone on the radio is listing all the things going wrong that will likely kill them really encapsulates that. I barely remembered this episode as a whole but that moment stuck so vividly for me.
