Part 2: How I Would Get Rich If I Was Starting From ZERO

This is a different alternative to the post I did about If I was in a position I woke up and had nothing.

Part 1 : https://www.patreon.com/posts/if-i-woke-up-be-104108975

This guide will be a solid 5-10 year plan If i was to start from 0 assuming I am someone who is none entrepreneurial and 0 skills.

Firstly, I know the the best and most proven path for most people to become rich is by getting a degree in a high paying industry.

I have done military service before and I'm aware the military helps to fund peoples education in exchange for military service.

If you want your university tuition paid for, join the military.

95% of people who are in the military are not on the front line with an assault rifle, don’t worry 😂

The military will also cover all or most of your tuition fees while paying you a salary. They’ll also cover your accommodation and medical care.

This is one of the best opportunities, especially for people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds.

But too many people ignore it because they think it's "corny" or they're worried about what their broke friends and family will say.

Don’t let your ego keep you from a smart move like this.

Military service usually lasts just 4 years, but many people choose to stay a lot longer. It's a manageable commitment with significant major benefits.

I'm not one of those entrepreneurs or online 'gurus' who will tell everyone to start a business.

Not trying to discourage anyone, but the reality is, business is NOT for everyone.

Sure, there are plenty of short-term "hustles" that can make you some quick cash. Go ahead and try those if you want, but don't fool yourself into thinking that's the same as running a sustainable business.

Building a solid business takes a lot of time and effort. You won’t see much money for a couple of years, and most of it won’t go directly into your pocket. Instead, it’ll go back into the business.

You need a specific kind of work ethic and personality to pull it off—grit, determination, and a willingness to push through tough times. Not everyone has that, and that’s okay.

If you're not cut out for it, don't beat yourself up. Focus on finding a stable and well-paying career.

The military is one path to that, providing free University level education, courses, training, loads of free world travel around the world and benefits that can set you up for life.

Don't let pride or the opinions of others dictate your choices.

MY PLAN

If I wasn’t cut out for business or entrepreneurship, here’s what I’d do:

1. Join the Military

Have them pay for my degree in Finance, Economics, or Law. There are many other fields. such nursing, dentistry, medicine, etc....loads

Next, save and invest 80% of the money they pay me.

Then complete my 4 years of service. However because I am only 26, with no kids or any major life commitments, I wouldn't mind doing 10 years of service after the 4 years is up.

2. After 4 Years of Service:

Gain lots of life experiences, new friends, and memories.

Graduate with a fully paid-off finance and/or economics degree.

Be completely debt-free.

3. Start a Career in Investment Banking:

Leverage my military background to ace interviews and land a job.

Get a first year starting salary of around £55-60K for a bank in London.

4. Work for 3-6 Years:

 Earn £60-70K annually.

Save and invest 80% of my income.

Possibly relocate to the USA or UAE for a much higher income (average £120K annually).

5. Stack Cash and Invest:

Continue saving and investing 80% of my earnings.

If I started this at 20, then I'd aim for early retirement by my late 20s to early 30s ( ofcourse adjust according to your own age).

This is a solid 8-10 year plan, setting you up for a secure financial future without the uncertainty and risk of starting a business.

By leveraging military benefits, you'll get an education without the crushing debt that burdens so many.

With a finance or economics degree, you'll have access to high-paying jobs right out of University.

Saving and investing 80% of your income will rapidly build your wealth, giving you financial security and freedom.

Your military background will not only make you a standout candidate in interviews but also provide you with discipline, resilience, and a strong work ethic—traits highly valued in any industry.

Working in investment banking for a few years at a solid salary of £60-70K will boost your financial growth.

Relocating to the USA or UAE for even higher earnings (around £120K annually) will accelerate your path to wealth. By consistently saving and investing the majority of your income, you’ll build a substantial financial cushion.

Sticking to this plan means you'll be miles ahead of most people your age who are still figuring out their path.

By your late 20s to early 30s, you'll have the option to retire rich, enjoying the freedom to pursue whatever passions or interests you have without the pressure of financial constraints.

This plan isn’t just about getting by—it's about setting yourself up for a life of abundance and opportunity.

10 years sounds long, but just remember, the time will pass anyway.

Many people waste their youth on nonsense and wake up at 35 - 40 filled with regret.

They spent their 20s and 30s bouncing from one dead-end job to another.

There are people in their 40s who HAVE TO work jobs they hate just to avoid being homeless.

So, even if you start this plan at age 25-26, you could be rich and retired by 35.

If you’re in your late teens, you could be retired by 28-30. Even at 30, you could be retired by 40 which is still decent.

Consider the average retirement age these days is 60-70. You’d be decades ahead of the game.

You’d have the freedom to enjoy your life, travel, pursue passions, or even start a business without the stress of financial survival.

While others are stuck in the grind, you’ll be living life on your own terms.

Don't be one of those people who look back and wish they had done things differently.

The time will pass no matter what you do, make sure it counts.

This is not the typical “start drop shipping and get rich in 3 months” type of advice.

This is a much more GUARANTEED way to actually get your life heading in the right direction if you are starting from zero.

Plus, the results will be long-term and stable. This type of advice is not popular and most people will be closed to receiving it because it’s not fancy, quick or easy.

(well it is easy, but not effortless if you get what I mean)

But for those of you starting from zero who do consider it, I promise it will probably be the best decision of your life.

The main reason I’m suggesting the military is because everything is fully funded in exchange for 4 years of your service. You get paid, nearly free accommodation, and you leave DEBT FREE!

( The 4 years of service is not like a prison sentence, you still get plenty of time off to go home and see family and friends or if you are stationed in the same country your family and friends are, they can come and visit you whenever)

It's extremely hard to become rich when you're drowning in debt and juggling other living expenses and responsibilities.

When you're debt-free, everything you make can go straight towards investments to grow your wealth.

BTW, military service also means lots of free travel. You’ll get to see the world on someone else's dime.

The only "con" of military service is that things are super strict when it’s time to focus and work.

There’s no fooling around or being unprofessional. But if you can handle that discipline, the benefits far outweigh the downsides.

This structured environment will build resilience and a strong work ethic, qualities that will serve you well in any future career or business.

Im aware I said this military option is mainly for people who are none entrepreneurial

But I believe it can even help business owners

You learn lots of team building, communication and leadership skills

Especially when you get promoted to a level where you have 40-50 people reporting to you everyday.

These skills can be extremely valuable if you have a business.

Just thought I’d add that.

You don’t have to do finance btw lol

There’s a lot of things to pick from, just pick something that can lead to a high income when you’re done studying.
