Early Signs That You Are Dealing With a Dangerous Person Who Will Ruin You Financially **Don’t Do Business With These People**
Added 2023-01-04 15:22:45 +0000 UTCIt takes days, weeks, and sometimes months to construct a good house.
It takes a few minutes for an idiot to burn it down.
It takes years to build a good reputation but a moment to totally ruin it.
It takes years, effort, ideas, and people to build wealth. But one dangerous person can get you to lose all your money in one sweep.
Here are early signs you are dealing with such a dangerous person:
1. They want you to put your reputation at stake while they stay hidden
This is not a good sign.
If you are putting yourself out there on any project, staking your reputation on it, they should be doing the same.
If they want to enjoy the success, they should be willing to open themselves up for the fall too.
This is basic risk management.
In some cases, they are not willing to go public with you. And in that case, the benefit they get should be commensurate with that fact.
People who didn’t put their reputations on the line should not get the same benefit as those who put their reputations on the line.
But if the partner has an equal share of benefit without being exposed with the same magnitude, that is a red flag.
2. They speak negatively of other people in their absence
If you are in business with someone who talks negatively about others when they are not present, you have a serious problem.
That person will talk negatively about you too in your absence.
The gold standard here is people who can speak their minds freely (positively or negatively) in the presence of the other person.
People who can speak their minds to the face of anybody are great.
But if you can’t get that, then it is better to have someone who keeps what they have to say to themselves.
To only speak negatively of other people in their absence is a sign of cowardice.
3. They think petty lies are acceptable
No, they are not. If you catch them with lies and they just laugh it off, that is a serious red flag.
Anyone who lies petty will lie major when the circumstances require it.
Don’t keep petty liars around you. They will cost you a fortune.
4. They can’t keep confidential information
You can have someone like this in your world. But you must not keep them close.
Those close to you must be discreet people.
Information leaks are mostly how relationships break.
Your “best friend” must be able to hold your secret in until you are ready to share it with the world.
So, this is not about secrets of illegal activities. This is about things that would be shared later.
Only keep close to you people that can shut up when they get privileged information.
5. They complain about money
Stay away from that energy. If you keep hanging around people who complain about money, they will keep messing with your wealth vibration.
I challenge you to break away from such people.
Another problem is that if you get wealthy and you are still close to someone who complains about money, they will start making you feel bad about how rich you are. And that can lead you to self-sabotage.
6. They criticise the government
The government of every country in this world has faults.
Not one of them is perfect or even close to perfect. Most of them are horrible.
Some are even borderline evil. But to spend an ample amount of time criticising them is not a good thing.
Criticising the government won’t change it. So, why do it?
If a person is in a position to correct or influence a government practice, that’s good! That is a good vantage point to speak out.
But someone who is not in such a position but spends all their time criticising the government in everyday life conversations is a dangerous person to be with.
Whether you like it or not, your country’s government is your business partner.
But someone who is not in such a position but spends all their time criticising the government in everyday life conversations is a dangerous person to be with.
Whether you like it or not, your country’s government is your business partner.
How can your business partner deliver flows of money to you if you keep criticising?
At the very least, you will be paid in the currency of the country. Don’t curse the plate you eat from.
And more importantly, stay away from people who curse the plate they are eating from.
7. They give up too quickly
People who try once, fail, and never try again. They unconsciously carry an air of regret. Everybody hates failure. You only become numb to it when you’ve had plenty of it.
But you must distance yourself from someone who can’t be tenacious.
At the smallest resistance, they want to bail. Such people will ruin you financially.
You will have the best deal in the world and they will bail on you at the slightest resistance.
Nothing good comes without resistance. If you tried things that didn’t work last year, give yourself a pat on the back for trying. Then, try again.
8. They have a bad attitude toward the success of others
Don’t keep people with a bad attitude (toward success) around you.
Even when an “enemy” achieves success, they should respond to the success and not the “enemy”.
The attitude should be, “if they can, we can too”.
Sometimes, people can’t help being mad or jealous of the success of others. But good people instantly caution themselves.
People who can’t caution and control themselves (especially when they speak) are going to be big financial liabilities.
I hope you have learned something today.
Till next time.
