5 Reasons Why Rich People Don't Like to Help Poor People

This is not to say that rich people don’t like to help poor people. Of course, many rich people do. Some don’t though. However, finding a rich person who is willing to help a poor person get rich is rare. And the reason is not what you are thinking.

I will be telling you 5 basic reasons behind this. Let’s take them one after the other.

1. Many Rich People Don’t Know How They Got Rich

Of course, if you ask them to tell you their story, they will share. Some have the public version and the private version. And that is because they were involved in some things they weren’t proud of at some point. Therefore, they would rather edit that out of the story.

But if you ask them to teach the steps of how they got rich to another person, they can’t. This is because many of the things that happened in their favour are based on time and chance.

There are many wealthy people today who admit that. But there are a bunch of others who just hit hard on “hard work”.

They claim hard work is what is responsible for their success. But the opportunities they got to work hard at are not even feasible for many people.

So, how can you help someone else when you don’t know what helped you? Many rich people are stuck here. If you eject them out of their story and plunge them into another person’s story, they won’t have the financial success that they have.

But not all rich people have this as the primary reason. There are other reasons.

2. Poor People are Very Hard to Help

A poor person is someone who doesn’t recognise the value he or she has.

Everybody has some value that they have that they can use to improve the world or the lives of others. But while people who create wealth have that value refined, poor people don’t even see theirs let alone refine it.

If you want to help a person get rich, the person has to see that value in themselves first when there is no external proof

Anybody that cannot see that value in themselves cannot be rich.  Some are lucky and have other people such as parents, mentors, and coaches, see it in them even before they see it. But for the majority of people, you have to see it yourself first.

If you have a low sense of self worth, there is a good chance you will not achieve financial freedom.

3. What It Takes to be Rich is Hard to Explain

Can you embarrass yourself in front of the world?

If someone told you that the secret to wealth is to go dance naked alone like a mad person on the street where you grew up, many would be opposed to it. But in many cases, you have to risk that level of embarrassment to grow rich.

There are some people who would be fine with dancing naked. But if you tell them to suit up and go make a sales presentation in front of bankers and wealthy people, they would be terrified. This is the fear of embarrassment.

If you are thinking, “who am I to stand before these people?”

Or something like,

“they are probably laughing and making fun of me”.

Yes, you may be right that they are laughing at you. But if you can’t stand there regardless, you probably don’t have what it takes.

You may have heard of the fear of failure. And many think they are not rich because of fear of failure, which is not true.

There is the fear of success.

Do you know that if you get super rich, half of your friends will suddenly not be your friends anymore? The details don’t matter, it just happens. The question now is this — are you okay with that?

Some would say, “I don’t have any friends”.

But can you know that someone hates you and still work with the person? In many cases, rich people have to work with people they know hate them. Maybe not for long though.

Also, can you fire people you like? Sometimes it comes to that. And if you can’t stomach that, you might be subconsciously resisting success.

4. The Poor Doesn’t Need Money

It is easier to give a poor person money than to help them get rich.

In fact, if a rich person wants to help a poor person, they refuse to give the poor money. This is because that poor person has to see the value in themselves and be able to sell based on that value.

When a rich person offers to help a poor person, the poor person often expects money. And if the rich man gives the poor person money, that is not the kind of help that will make the poor rich.

But the way to wealth doesn’t pay you money. In fact, if it pays you money, it is not the way to wealth.

How then would poor people expect to make money? Well, that is the stuff they figure out. It is by figuring that out that they become rich. It is often a painful and difficult journey. But once a person can create and sell, financial success is inevitable.

5. It Is A Thankless Job

Helping a poor person get rich is a thankless job. In fact, there is often a period when the poor person hates the rich person (who is trying to help).

There are many people today who hate the people who woke them up to the reality of becoming rich.

This is because the awakening is often not a pleasant experience. So, they hate the person who brought about that.

Some people even get physically sick after that reality dawns on them. So, the rich person who caused that awakening is seen as a villain. After a few years, a lot of successful people look back and become grateful for the awakening. But the fact that it was not a pleasant experience is still there.

Helping poor people get rich is a thankless job. And there is no guarantee that the poor person will get rich after you give them that unpleasant awakening. So, they might just choose to stay poor and hate you.

Conclusion

People get rich by bringing out the value they have on the inside.

You get rich by becoming a producer, not by consuming everything else.

It is hard to help the poor get rich. It is often an unpleasant experience for the poor to make the transition. The older they are, the more difficult the transition seems. It is easier to just give money. And most rich people are not sure what exactly made them rich in the first place.

- Till next time.
