Simply knowing a name doesn't spoil anything, the same as seeing a character design in the OP or ED doesn't spoil anything. But I agree that setting expectations DOES spoil, because it interrupts their genuine reaction by giving them expectations of how they should feel. So just saying Shalnark's name doesn't take away a single thing from the experience of discovering the show.

2023-05-20 08:33:26 +0000 UTCtranslation - "Thank you for always watching Japanese anime! Hunter Hunter is a very popular anime, almost as popular as One Piece and Attack on Titan. It's my favorite manga and my favorite anime. The great thing about this anime is that you can see the silly side of good people and you can't hate your enemies. It's an anime that makes you think a lot and lets you know the essence of people, and I think the author Togashi has a lot to say. Hisoka and upcoming enemies are just as popular as Killua. It's still early days, but please enjoy watching until the end."

2023-05-19 09:36:07 +0000 UTCPeople just making up their own rules about spoilers. "I just said they'll be real sad and surprised, I didn't say specifics." "I didn't say if that actually happens, so it's not a spoiler." At least put "SPOILER" in your comment. Imagine encouraging a comment section where everyone is spouting future character names. Even if you don't think it's a spoiler, imagine how that encourages a relaxed environment where the less conscientious among us says something that everyone agrees is a spoiler and they end up reading the comment.

2023-05-19 01:51:54 +0000 UTCA name isn't a spoiler. It's not like they were supposed to think that character was Kurapika.
