DAA) Chapter 2 Part 1

“Ahhhh!!!!” No matter how tough a person is. No matter what kind of pain tolerance they have. Having disinfectant poured on your eyes was a pain anyone would react to. It took all my brothers to hold me down while Cap treated my eyes. They were completely gone, but I could still feel the pain.

“Done for now. We need to change the bandage once a day at least. I will be putting all the first aid we have in your pack. Aiya, I have no idea how long we will be stuck in this place so just bare with it for now.” Cap tightened the bandage on my eyes. It seemed my eyelids were still intact. But my balls had been basically sliced in half.

Whatever I was attacked with cut into the bridge of my nose and across my eyeballs, destroying my sight. Right now, my eyelids were tapped so that I couldn’t close them. It was a very weird feeling and an annoying one since I was used to blinking. But now I had nothing to blink.

“I should be the one to apologize. I am weighing you all down. I was careless and got injured.” I really did feel bad. We were in a bad situation, but I went and got injured to the point that I would need to be led around.

“Little Sis, you do not need to worry. As your brothers we will make sure you get home.” Carlos patted my shoulder. He was always caring about others before himself.

“As long as we all get home,” I muttered softly. I did not want to jinx it, but Briggs was already dead. I almost died as well. Our chances of survival at this moment were slim. I knew this. But I be damned if I do not get out of this place where ever this place was.

I had to make use of my time since I would not be able to do anything for the time being to try to hone my other senses. I might not be able to see, but I can still hear and smell. I have read that some people have heightened senses when they lose one of their five senses. If this was the case, I just needed to try to hone these skills. At least then, I can help my team.

I held on to the rope Cap tied to my waist and, I guess, tied to himself to pull me along. I knew this was hindering his own movement, but he said he wanted to be able to pull me out of the way in case I was attacked. In a way, it was smart, but at the same time, it was not very good for the person attached to it, especially if I were to get caught and Cap couldn’t get away. When I tried to bring it up to him, he ignored me and began pouring shit into my eyes.

We walked for what seemed like a good hour before we all came to a stop once again. I could hear a scuttling sound, not so much as a shuffle or a tapping but a scuttling. “Cap, I think that’s a spider.”

“A spider? Are you sure?”

“Yeah. Remember that training we did in Aus? Well, the spiders down there made me remember what they sounded like and if I cam not wrong then what ever that sound is is made by a spider a thousand times bigger than the biggest ones in Aus. And it is right above us.” My hearing had always been good, so I could get a general idea of where a noise was coming from just by hearing it.

“Alright, boys, you heard her, we need to aim our weapons above us and begin backing up slowly. First signs of anything fire at will.”

It seemed Cap was not taking any chances. I could feel the rope around my hip being pulled backward. I was not sure who was doing it, but someone was trying to lead me out of here.

“Fuck! My weapon! Ahhh!” I heard Bryan yell out, which did not sound good. I suddenly felt an arm wrap around my waist as I was picked up off the ground and carried.

“Shit Bryan! Fucker got Bryan!”

“Aiya, bear with it. We need to hurry.” Cap’s panicked voice filled my ears. I think this was the first time I had ever heard him this panicked before.

“Cap, take care of Little Sis we will try to get Bryan Back!”

From what I was hearing Bryan was taken. Thomas and Carlos were trying to rescue him. This at least meant he was not dead but a spider… “Cap…”

“Let them do their thing. I will be taking you out of here. When you first joined our team we were worried you would not make it. But you showed us not only how tough you were but that you were someone we could rely on. Unlike us old men, you our the youngest. If anyone is going to survive and return home it will be you. Just remember to drink a few for us.”

“Cap, don’t talk like we are all dead.” Spiders normally did not eat their prey right away. We should be able to find Bryan if we looked. There was no telling where he would be taken too, but if the spider was on the ceiling, then maybe its web was there or possibly in a den.

I could hear gunfire from behind us. I had no idea which direction we were going in. Not that it seemed to matter. These monsters were strong and had weird abilities. There was also the thing with the damn [Level Up!] window in front of me. This thing seemed to be imprinted in my mind.

The strange mist that we walked through and ended up in this place. It’s like we walked right into another dimension or some kind of wormhole that took us to another world. If I started thinking along this line, maybe I could pull shit from the fantasy novels I have read in the past? Not that I have much time to think about this kind of thing at this time.
