VL) Chapter 3 Part 4
Added 2024-06-17 00:52:06 +0000 UTCAnd so I gave chase and chased some more. This damned thing was much faster than me, yet it would stop, stick its tongue out at me, and shakes its green ass! It was nasty! It was so nasty I wanted to bash it! “[Scale Harden],” I whispered softly. I couldn’t call it out loud. It would be very umm… embarrassing. But I can say it was a good thing I did that when I did because I suddenly felt something hard hit me in the back of the head. I turned to see another green thing standing there, staring at me and then at the wooden club in its hand.
“You like to smash things!? So do I!” I raised my fist and thrust it down. Yes down. It was much shorter than me. My fist connected with the top of its head and…
Splat!
It splatted. All over. It was strange since it made such a juicy sound you would think it would splatter blood everywhere but it didn’t. It just turned into an explosion of zeros and ones.
[System Message: Killed Data Goblin]
[Experience Gained…]
“Gaabooo!” The one who caused this mess yelled out at me and charged at me with great speed. It was already upon me before I could even react, slamming its wooden club towards my chest. I raised my arm and…
Clunk!
I felt something slightly hard hit me but did no damage. The Gaaboo, I think I will call it since that is all it screams out, looked at me in shock. But I could only menacingly grin and crack my knuckles. “Time for some payback for ruining my amazing food!”

Elara Vane, that is my name. I grew up as an only child. A second-generation player. But sadly, my father died before I really got to know him. Because I was a player, no one would ever want to get close to me. They were too scared since there was a chance my powers could go out of control. I was even banned from leaving the building I was in, so any chance of meeting other second-generation players was basically zero. This meant since young, I have never had a true friend.
Then, after all these years, my Mother brought home a new player who was my age, Alicia. Alicia grew up on tier one, the lowest level of our city. When I first laid eyes on her, I couldn’t help but think that she was really cute and wanted to get to know her. But Alicia was a bit unique. I know it was because of how she grew up, but she said and did things that were beyond my expectations. I guess it made things interesting, but at the same time, it was slightly embarrassing.
She seems to be the type to not want to show too much skin. She is a huge foodie and very spontaneous. Like now. The Data Goblin had tossed all her food on the floor, which angered her, causing her to give chase before I could stop her. And now as I stood here watching the scene in front of me, I realized one new thing about Alicia.
“Haha! How does it feel!? Do you like getting hit? Did you like hitting me and destroying my food!? Come on, let me hit you a few more times! Let’s see how long you last before you go splat like the others!” That Alicia was a bully! I mean, yes, these were Viruses, but I still couldn’t help but feel sorry for the thing. Even its friends were standing at the side, not moving a single inch, while Alicia rained down punches on the Data Goblin that seemed to have passed out at some point, but with each punch, it was once more awoken and cried out in pain.

Splat!
“Humph!” I gave one last final punch after venting my anger. I then looked over at the stupid things friends and asked: “What? You want to be punched too!?”
“Gabo.” They all shook their heads.
“Then go back where you came from? Why are you still standing here!?” I am not sure what the hell these things were, but they were quite stupid! Even after I let them go, they still just stood there like idiots. It was as if they were dropped on their heads when they were little. Or littler? I am not sure these things are quite short. Maybe they were kids? Did I just kill a few kids? I killed three of these things, including this one just now. But they all attacked me first. The first was when I was chasing the food destroyer. The second one was when I had finally caught the food destroyer and thought they had a chance to take me out. Then, lastly, the food destroyer itself.
“Alicia!” I turned my head when someone called my name. I saw Elara standing there, looking at me with concern in her eyes. While I am touched, I think I do not know why she would be concerned about anything. It was not like these things were strong. I mean, I bashed them easily and did not even get hurt when they hit me.
But it seemed that these things did not wish to play anymore and suddenly jumped at Elara. Of course, I couldn’t let any harm come to her since Nina might blame me. So I shot forward and grabbed the stupid thing during mid-jump. “Did anyone say you could attack Her?”
Splat!
I crushed the stupid things head. The others all stopped mid-motion, not daring to move. But I had to admit their balance was insane. They were able to stand on one foot in a running position without moving an inch. If it were me, I probably would fall over. No, I definitely would fall over. Not right away, mind you, but give it a minute or two, and I would lose my balance.
I ignored the little green people and looked at Elara whose face was pale, and waved my hand in front of it. “Elara, you okay? Did it bop you, too? It shouldn’t hurt all that much. They are not very strong.”
“Huh? No.. I am fine. But… bop? You mean you were hit by viruses!?” Elara cried out, which caused me to jump. I was not expecting her to yell! Why she was yelling though, confused me. I mean, they hardly hurt. I think a rat hits harder than them. I know I was hit in the head by one before. It jumped out of a trash can I was rummaging through one day and hit me square in the head. Hurt like hell.
“You girls okay?” it was then that a voice came from behind us, and I saw a man running up to us with a bright smile on his face as he mashed the little green things.
