LYWTTA) Who Was Suffering?

“Miss Yuki, you are here.” The Dean looked very tired and haggard. He had been working day and night since his granddaughter walked up the mountain trying to get the Korli to release her, but he still had no luck. No matter what he offered, whether it was money or women, they wanted none of it. They only kept saying that her debt was not something one could pay off in her lifetime.
“I heard what happened. It is very saddening to know such a young woman would put herself in such a place.” Yuki let out a sigh. She looked as if she truly felt sorry for Claire.
“Yes… I do not know who she wished to have killed.” This was a lie. He had a feeling deep down that he knew what had happened but he did not dare say it!
“Sometimes, people who have evil thoughts will reap what they sow. I do not mean to sound so insensitive, but if she wanted to kill someone that badly and was willing to pay the price of her own body, I am sure she had thought it through. It could also be that she fell in love with the Korli. I did hear they were quite handsome. Did anything happen before this accord?” Yuki seemed as if she was trying to console the old man, but in truth, she was trying to tell him that one should not even think about doing evil if they do not have the power.
“Now that you mention it…” The Dean did not grasp at all what Yuki was hinting at but instead felt something was off. Before she went up the mountain, he and his granddaughter had gotten into a fight. Did she feel like she was no longer loved, so she decided to have someone killed so she could find a new backer? But if that was the case, why would the Korli not let him talk to her? Their rules about the women they take in were very strict.
The Dean looked up at Yuki, and the feeling he had before suddenly came back to him. He realized that he had really known this entire time. His granddaughter wanted to get rid of Yuki, but he fought with her, telling her that she should not even think of touching Yuki. He was saying it so that his granddaughter would not end up dead. But now… it seemed she did not listen. She had even gone to the Korli. Did she think someone as powerful as Yuki would not know her schemes?
“It seems she chose this path. I will leave it at that, then.” The Dean let out a long sigh. He did not like it, but whatever happened is now just punishment. Maybe one day, when she is released, she will finally be a better person. The Dean forced a smile as he asked: “Are you here to return the books?”
“Yes, they have been very helpful. I need to ask if you have anything more advanced on hand. If you can mix it in with the beginner level material.” Yuki replied while taking out the three books she had before.
“I figured you would ask this with how fast you have been reading through them. So I did take out something like that.” The Dean walked over to this desk and picked up three books, one of which was thicker than two of Yuki’s arms. “This thicker book has many different runic circles and explanations. It should help you greatly now that you got the basics down.”
“Thank you. I will do my best to quickly finish things up. I know you are putting a lot on the line by doing this for me.” Yuki had great respect for this Dean. She did not want to do what she did to the man’s granddaughter, but she would never let anyone go who wished to harm her or her family. She had already lost too much.
“It’s no issue. Since it is only between the two of us and you are not exposing the books to others, nothing should happen. Even if it does, they will have no choice but to understand.” The Dean’s meaning was those who dared to cause trouble would probably not have good ends.
Yuki gave a nod before saying good bye and taking her leave. She wanted to rush back to the inn and read these new books, especially the one with the runic circles. After she left, the old man looked at the closed door and felt the world was a bit lonely. “I should have taught her better, or else she would not have ended up like this.”
The Dean blamed himself for his Granddaughter’s plight since he felt he had not taught her well enough. He spoiled her to no end, and now she was suffering.
In the depths of the Korli palace, the sounds of grunting could be heard. But there was no pleading or anything like that. In fact, the girl who was surrounded by men had a look of lust in her eyes as she enjoyed all her holes being filled up. She had been completely broken, or maybe she was just this kind of person, to begin with. While her grandfather was blaming him for her suffering, she was actually enjoying herself to no end. The one who was truly suffering was the Dean.
