LYWTTA) Library
Added 2024-05-12 14:46:26 +0000 UTCThe White Stone Magi Academy’s library was not a normal room. It was a massive library with rows upon rows of books descending up into a darkness that one could not see the end of. It was unknown just how many books had accumulated here but some estimated it to be over one billion or more. The inner workings of the library were a little special since it was covered in runic markings that created the space within what seemed like a small building into the endless tower within.
When Yuki entered the library she instantly understood this was what she was looking for. A place where space and time altered creating its own dimension. It was exactly what Yuki wanted to create. She had no idea how it was created but from the runs on the floor and walls, she figured it had something to do with that. But this was not what she wanted. She did not want to turn an existing structure into its own dimension.
Yuki wanted to create a pocket dimension she could bring with her no matter where she was and still have access to it. This was kind of like that but far from it. She needed something like a spatial ring that had its own space but would allow living beings inside and still have some semblance of the world outside.
The idea was to make a place for Nana, Chi, and her mother to live while she ventured into the realms above working on a method to heal Nana while at the same time upgrading the pocket dimension to be better.
Whether she could create a world or not was another story. She knew her idea was ambitious but she was sure there must be a way. Mystic realms were vast places created by the one leaving it behind. But even these were stationary. Only by creating an item that could be carried with her could she progress further. She could not leave Nana and the others in the mortal realm. There were too many dangers.
One such danger was lurking below the surface of the realm. There were also many hidden dangers as well. If she can make the realm big enough she would even be willing to bring the entire sect along. But she was unsure if this would be possible or not. She had to start small first and if she found it easy enough to expand the place she could then allow her entire sect to become runic circle mages and cultivators at the same time. She could create a new way of using both powers, mixing them together to create an even bigger power.
Yuki looked at the tall bookshelves and let out a sigh. Her idea was truly grand. “Yuki?” Lilly looked at Yuki in confusion. The girl had not moved from where she stood for a while now.
“It’s nothing.” Yuki calmed her emotions and turned to Lilly with a smile on her face. “Tell me, how would I go about finding books on space-time magic?”
“Over here.” Lilly brought Yuki over to a pedestal with a book lying on top of it. It was open and on it was a list of names. “Just tell the book what you are looking for.”
Yuki nodded and stood in front of the pedestal. The pages were slightly yellowish showing the age of time and the brim and cover were black as the darkest abyss. Yuki tried to picture what she wanted to know about in her mind before she spoke. “I need books on space-time magic and pocket dimensions.”
The book slowly levitated in the air before tilting towards Yuki as the pages began to flip. Blue lines of mana began to form intricate runic designs in the air around the book. Just as they were about to complete the blue lines suddenly turned red and the fantastical scene suddenly stopped. The book floated back down and landed on the pedestal, lying still as if nothing had happened.
“What’s going on?” Yuki looked at Lilly who shook her head. She had never heard of this happening before either.
As the two stood there confused as to what was going on. Footsteps came from behind, causing them to turn around. Walking towards them was an old man in a mage’s robe. His tall point black wide-brimmed hat bobbed up and down at its point. While his face was wrinkled and he had a long flowing white beard with a white mustache to match, his eyes were gentle when looked at the two girls.
“The both of you need to come with me.” The old man stated as he stood in front of the two girls. “You have requested restricted documents so you both need to come with me.”
Yuki frowned. She did not understand how space-time magic was restricted if this very room in which the library resided was created by it. But in order not to make a scene Yuki nodded and patted Lilly on the shoulder. Maybe by explaining what she wanted to do, she could gain access to what she needed.
