LYWTTA) Reunited Part 1
Added 2024-04-30 03:25:16 +0000 UTCIn a small inn in the middle of the town, Rize sat next to a bed where Nana was resting with her eyes closed. Her breathing weak due to her rapid aging. Rize looked at the figure on the bed with a warm gaze. She hoped more than anything that they could somehow keep Nana alive long enough to treat her. But even with everything she has tried, she has only been able to prolong her life and not actually fix the root cause.
Knock! Knock!
A knock came at the door. Rize frowned slightly and sent out her divine sense. When she saw the girl on the other side and felt the familiar aura, Rize’s eyes lit up. She quickly got out of the chair and opened the door. “Yuki…”
“Nana is?” Yuki pushed past Rize. She was not trying to be mean but on her mind right now was nothing but Nana. She walked over to the bed and looked at the aged and wrinkled girl whose hair had turned completely grey with tears welling up in her eyes. “How is she?”
“I can only keep her alive. When she has taken in some qi, she can move around okay, but it seems to be sucked dry from her within a few hours.” Rize replied. “Yuki, I am sorry I was unable to protect her well.”
“It’s not your fault. We all made a choice to go in there. None of us could have expected any of that. I will bring you back with me to the place I am staying. I got a house from some people. Delia is currently there as well. Maybe she will have a method of trying to revert the situation.” Yuki took a few qi-gathering pills from her space and handed them to Rize. “You have used a lot of spiritual qi. Take these.”
“Thank you.” Rize did not stand on ceremony and took the pills, stuffing them in her mouth. She really had used up a lot of spiritual qi. In order to allow Nana to walk around she had used almost half of her qi. But she soon realized she had to keep giving Nana qi, so she had already used up all her qi replenishing pills.
“There is no need to thank me. I should be, thank you. Rize, I owe you. You saved Nana’s life. She is someone I can not lose. Just as I am her world, she is mine. She has helped me realize what it means to trust people once again and has allowed me to become who I am today. If not for her, I might have become a totally different person altogether. I might have even died long ago. I will make sure to heal her no matter what I have to do. Even if I must turn over the entire universe, I will protect Nana no matter what and heal her.” Yuki was making some bold claims, but this was truly how she felt. She did not care what she had to do. As long as she could heal Nana and allow her to be the same old Nana as she was before, she would do anything.
“I also need to apologize. Nana would not be suffering now if I had not thought I could heal her before she got to see you.” Rize had originally sealed Nana. When she got to a town, she spent some time trying to go over her options, and an idea came to mind. She wanted to see if she could use her own spiritual qi and inject it into Nana’s dantian directly and hope that it would heal her some. While it did work at first, it quickly reverted. She had no idea what was causing the suction, but there was something causing Nana’s spiritual qi to be sucked from her body. “I had used a sealing technique when I first arrived here to try to keep her from dying but undid it when I thought I might have a way to heal her… the results are as you can see. She needs to continuously have spiritual qi injected into her.”
“It’s fine. Rize, you were trying to help Nana. Even if Nana had died during the process, I would not have blamed you. You were doing your best, even using up your spiritual qi which is scarce in this world to try to heal my Nana. I owe you more than one life, my own and hers. And you have continued to do it keeping her alive all this time.” Yuki bowed deeply to Rize. She really had to thank this girl from the bottom of her heart. “If you ever need anything in the future please let me know. I will do my best to help you.”
“This… Yuki, I did it because I wanted to. You do not need to owe me anything.” Rize was kind of flustered she was not used to people bowing like this to her.
“No, I have to. Thank you.” Yuki kept her head lowered for a few seconds before raising it once more. As she did she heard a weak voice from behind her call out to her.
“Yuki?”
