LZR Chapter 3 Part 3) Onward To A New Home

“You little demon!” Fu Zimen yells out. He seems to be a little too excited right now. I am not sure if he is crazy or what. Even if he is at the peak of body fortification. There is no way he is at perfection. He seemed to have stopped trying to prefect his current body state long ago.

I watched as he turned to Elder Ming and said: “You heard her. She wants to fight me. This is her challenging me. So even if I beat her to death, it is her own fault.”

Elder Ming looks at me. I give him a nod, and he returns it with a smile. “Since you are sure I will not stop you. But since you do not have a weapon, I will loan you mine.”

Elder Ming hands me his sword, but I shake my head. “No weapons. I have no intention of killing this man. I only plan to beat some sense into him. That is unless the big idiot is too scared to fight unarmed against a five-year-old.”

“Who's scared?” I watch as Fu Zimen tosses his sword to the side without caring where it lands. Those who had come to watch the happenings had to get out of the way before they were stabbed through. He then begins punching his fists as he stares at me with menacing eyes. I wonder if he realizes that I am much smaller and not an easy target to hit while he is much bigger and also a man. Did he expect me to fight fairly against an adult male?

“Then you can begin!” Elder Ming shouts. I smile and tap my foot on the ground, and with a strong burst of speed, I quickly arrive in front of Fu Zimen. He seems startled at first but then grins as he strikes down at me. I, in return, slip under his legs, spin around, and kick upwards as hard as I can.

“Hiyeee!” Fu Zimen squeals like a pig and falls to his knees. I watch as even Elder Ming cringes at what I have just done. But I ignore it, flip over the big idiot, spin myself around, swing my foot out like a whip, and kick him right in the face—or, more precisely, the chin. Fu Zimen’s body sways before collapsing on the ground.

I let out a breath of air before dusting off the imaginary dust from my hands and looking at Elder Ming, whose expression says it all. A full-grown man was just beaten unconscious by a five-year-old in two moves. “Don’t worry, he is still alive. I just knocked him out. But he shouldn’t get up for a while.”

“I know he is still alive, but still. Little One, you are really something. Where did you learn to move like that?” Elder Ming asked, but I only smiled in return and said: “Self-taught.”

Elder Ming sighs before waving some of the older kids over and telling them to take Fu Zimen and Fu Qing back to their house. He seemed to have washed his hands of the incident. I don’t blame him. Dealing with an idiot like Fu Zimen is anger-inducing.

I walked over and held my mother’s hand and the two of us walked back to our hut with Elder Ming following behind us. We did not have much of anything to offer, so we all sat down on the floor and talked. “Xinyi, I hope you realize now that this has all happened living here will be even harder.”

“Elder Ming, my mother, and I will be leaving this place tonight. I had planned to stay a bit longer, but as you said, things are different now. So I will take my mother, and we will use the cover of darkness to leave this place.” I spoke up before my mother could. My mother looked at me with a worried expression, but I patted her hand and whispered everything would be okay. Only then did she relax a bit.

“Hehe, if only the old man knew you had me!” Little Nine seemed quite proud of herself. However, I did have to admit I was only willing to do this because I had Little Nine. Without the pagoda, I would be a little more wary of traveling at night.

“This…. Leaving at night? I think you should….” I cut Elder Ming off and shook my head.

“As soon as he wakes up the first thing he will do is come cause trouble. You know this. We will be leaving here in a few hours. The sun is still up, so we should be good to find a place far from the village to settle for the night.” I explained lightly. “There is no need to worry.”

“Then…” Elder Ming unties a small dagger at his side and hands it to me. “Take this. It’s not a sword, but with your current skill and a sharp dagger, you should be able to get out of any dangerous situation. Just don't venture too deep into the forest. I will deal with Fu Zimen and keep him off your trail. He is someone who does not like giving up too easily.”

“Thank you, Elder Ming. You have not only saved my life before but are even helping us now. My mother and I owe you greatly. If I can, in the future, I will try to return and help you leave this place. Maybe even extend your life.”
