LYWTTA) Temporary Home
Added 2024-04-16 02:55:11 +0000 UTCA week passed and Yuki was now standing in front of a massive mansion. Next to her was Delia and Lilly. “To think you actually forced the Randle’s out of town.”
“Just because they left does not mean you should not be careful. This is why you are staying with us for a while.” Yuki had to make sure Lilly understood she was still a target. Just because she had gotten rid of the Randles did not mean the Randles did not hold a grudge against the Massins and herself. In fact, Yuki knew the old man was holding a grudge.
“I know.” Lilly nodded her head like a little chick. She respected and admired Yuki’s handling of things. “Is that why you are both entering the academy with me?”
“That and it will give us a chance to learn more. Not just about your magic but other things as well. While your old man said he would teach us himself, I did not want to bother him when he still has his own duties to attend to.” Yuki replied. She also wanted to do something other than just sitting around. So, picking on a few kids at school sounded like fun. There was nothing more entertaining than playing a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
“We start in two days’ time, so we need to get settled in here first,” Lilly replied and was about to open the door to the mansion, but Yuki stopped her.
“Don’t rush in, or you might die,” Yuki replied as she turned to look at Delia.
“It’s fine. I scanned the entire place from top to bottom. As per your request, all the furniture except for the beds has been left intact. It seemed the old man was too scared to go against your words.” Delia chuckled as he hugged Yuki’s arm and gave her a kiss on the cheek. “You are the cutest you when you bully people.”
“I am not bullying anyone. They are people who do evil things and expect the world to dance for them. I am just putting these people in their place.” Yuki replied, fully denying it.
“And you expect me to believe you want to go to the academy to learn? I know you are just bored.” Delia hit its target, and Yuki almost stumbled as she went to step through the door.
“Delia, it seems you want me to punish you. How about no….” Yuki did not even get to finish before Delia’s hands covered her mouth.
“I’m sorry, okay? You are an angel. You would never bully anyone or beat them up just for looking at you.” Delia really did not want to hear the words from Yuki’s mouth! She could not let those words escape her lips no matter what!
“Hahaha!” Yuki let out a laugh, licked Delia’s hand, and then looked around the new place. “What was wrong with these people?” Yuki frowned when she saw how extravagant the place was.
“This is a bit much,” Delia agreed as she looked around. Everything was made out of what looked like glowing blue stones, but from what Yuki understood, it was a kind of magicite—a very valuable type of stone. It allowed a person to channel their magic more easily and was usually embedded into weapons.
“Why is there so much of it? Were they trying to make their house into a magic item?” Even Lilly was surprised to see such extravagance. Her father would never allow them to waste money on things like this.
“Well… have your father come rip it out and replace it with wood. We do not need such things as it has no function really except to show off.” Yuki wrinkled her nose at it before sniffing the air a bit and frowning. “Smells like ass.”
“Well, they were a family of asses.” Delia chuckled. She knew Yuki was making fun of the Randles.
“They did raise that chick, so I guess that is not far from the truth, but I feel it’s more like they never changed their underwear type of smell. There was a young man in my village who would not change his underwear, no matter how much his mother yelled at him. He smelt like this place.” Yuki thought back to her home village. The peace and quiet and then Mr. Stinky. The kid really hated bathing and would stink the place up no matter where he went. People tried to ignore him, but many times, he was forced to the river, where he was thoroughly washed by his father. He was not bad-looking when he was washed up, but sadly, he preferred the grubby lifestyle.
“I don’t smell anything.” To normal people, the house smelled fine, but to Yuki and Delia, they could smell the stink.
“There is another scent mixed in as well. It smells like…” Yuki frowned. She turned to Delia, who also nodded.
“Lilly, stay close to Delia.” Yuki did not know if this was a trap or not but she still had to check things out.
They made their way through the house, and as they did the scent Yuki was smelling was getting stronger and stronger until she finally reached a wall that looked just like a wall. But when she pressed against it, exerting some of her strength, the entire wall collapsed, followed by a strong gust of death filling the air.

I wonder if the old family knew and just didn't clean up the bodies, or just had no idea that there was a rotting corpse ball pit in their walls.
