Even after finishing the five skewers, the read-headed girl’s eyes wandered over to Shizuku’s hand that still had three skewers left in it. Shizuku could feel the burning gaze on her hand and let out a small laugh before asking: “Want them?”

“I could never ask for more than you have already given me.” The red-headed, busty girl replied. It was just her words and her hands were doing two different things.

Shizuku watched as the girl began devouring the three skewers that were left and smiled. “You must have been very hungry.”

“That was good!” The red-headed girl licked her fingers making sure to every last drop of sauce from them. “I haven’t eaten in so many days. I thought I was going to die. My name is Rose. What is your Miss. If I can repay you somehow, I will.”

“My name is Shizuku. You don’t need to pay me back. I just saw that you had run into some trouble, so I decided to help out. Normally, someone in your situation would have tried to steal from one of the shops, but you did not. This shows that you are a good person. A good person should be helped out when needed.” Shizuku stood up and stretched. “It was a pleasure to meet you, Rose. I need to head to the library. If you need money, I suggest registering with the guild.”

“Alright. Take care. Thanks again.” Rose stood up and gave a small, graceful bow. This showed that Rose came from a well-off family.

Shizuku gave Rose a small wave before continuing on towards the library. As she did, she took in all the sights and sounds of the city around her. It was just that she kept feeling someone was following her. She turned to look behind her to see flowing red hair fluttering ever so lightly in the wind from out behind a stall. Shizuku did not know where to laugh or cry at this. She began to wonder if she fed a stray dog who became attached to her.

Shaking her head and ignoring the red-headed girl, Shizuku continued towards the library. When Shizuku arrived at the entrance, she turned once more and said: “You have been following me this entire time. Just walk at my side.”

Rose, who was hiding behind a sign, albeit unsuccessfully, blushed as she stood up and walked over towards Shizuku. “I just happened to be coming here as well.”

“So you have money to get a card?” Shizuku asked, causing the red-headed girl to stop in her tracks. She had just taken a few steps past Shizuku when Shizuku said this, and now she felt even more embarrassed! She began to wonder if Shizuku was actually mean. But she couldn’t deny what Shizuku said! She really did not have money. She lowered her head and bit her bottom lip. She really looked pitiful. With her beauty, any guy who saw her like this would probably run up and lay down their life for her.

Shizuku sighed. This girl was really too enticing! She sighed and said: “Come on, I will pay for you.”

Rose’s eyes lit up, and a smile bloomed on her face. “Thank you!”

The library of Freesdale was huge. It had five floors and spanned an entire city block. It had records from old to present day. It was the second biggest archive in the entire kingdom of Dracluna.

Because of the number of rare texts within the library, although free for people to read, the security was very tight. Everyone who came could do so if they had a card to pass through the gate. As for those leaving, they underwent search magic and a body pat down. Of course, there were both female and male guards.

“Welcome. How can I help you?” a young woman with glasses asked. She was sitting behind a large desk that had many books stacked on top of each other. The girl herself had two horns coming off the top of her head. Her brown hair was only shoulder length and curled up at its ends. Her bright green eyes were what attracted Shizuku’s attention. They looked like emeralds sparkling under the light of the room.

Shizuku only had two words for this girl: Hot Librarian! She could only sigh, knowing she would never win this girl over, mainly because there was a ring on her left ring finger on her left hand. This meant she was already taken. This was something Shizuku had long learned about this world. Girls who had a ring on their left ring finger were married.

“We would like to register,” Shizuku replied after taking one last look at the beauty in front of her.

“It is 50 silver for a card. You can read as much as you want, but remember you can not take any materials out, nor can you copy any materials. All magic is nullified beyond the gate. If caught trying to steal anything thing or copy anything, you will be arrested and imprisoned. The Freesdale Archive will not allow any exceptions even if you are royalty.”
