They quickly found an inn to stay at and booked a large room for Shizuku and her wives as well as another room for her guards. Since they were in Fallen territory, Shizuku wanted her guards to sleep as much as possible. They were reluctant at first but after Shizuku firmly stated she wanted them to rest they did as she said.

“You girls rest up as well, I plan to go to the library after looking around some more. It’s been a while since I could go for a leisurely walk alone.” Shizuku really just wanted some alone time. Luckily the girls did not mind.

Out in the streets, Shizuku took a deep breath of air. She never felt so relaxed as she looked around. She had long wanted to be able to roam freely without being cursed at or stared at with evil intent. She was glad she had come to Fallen territory.

She walked the streets looking at this and that without actually buying anything. She was just trying to take in the culture for the time being and interact with the locals here. It was not until she got to a stall selling meat that she stopped after smelling a mouth-watering scent floating through the air.

“Look, lady, you need to pay up, or you can’t buy anything!” A gruff voice yelled out. The man who owned the stall seemed to be having a hard time.

“Just give me one! I swear I will pay you back soon. I have not eaten for days.” A girl with a more refined tone to her voice pleaded with the stall owner. The drool dripping down her chin could not be hidden.

Shizuku looked at the girl. She had fiery red hair that flowed down past her waist and red eyes that seemed to light up like a flame in a fire. With a beautiful face and large breasts that formed well with her figure, she was definitely a beautiful girl. There was no question about that.

“Look, lady, I do not do tabs. Either you pay up or no food!” The stall owner did not seem to care about the pitiful expression the beautiful young woman had on her face. He just wanted money and nothing else.

“How much?” Shizuku finally stepped forward. She was a sucker for beautiful girls.

“Huh?” Both the red-headed girl and the stall owner turned to look at Shizuku in confusion.

“I am asking how much a skewer is. Give me ten.” Shizuku took out a gold coin and placed it on the counter. As soon as the gold coin came into view, the stall owner’s eyes lit up, and a smile formed on his face. “Of course! Ten skewers coming up!”

The stall owner quickly grabbed some uncooked skewers and began roasting them over the open flames. He would dash each one with a bit of spice and some kind of sauce as he rotated them. It did not take long for the smell of cooked meat to fill the area. The red headed girl’s eyes were starting to water up, her stomach growling loudly. She really wanted to snatch the skewers from the man but she had her own pride as well.

“Ten skewers, here you go!” The stall owner passed the ten meat skewers to Shizuku. He then took the gold coin and dished out fifty silver back to Shizuku.

Shizuku received her change and then split her skewers apart. Five in each hand. As she was doing this, she could tell a set of eyes were following her every action. Shizuku smiled, doing her best not to laugh as she held out her hand to the red-headed beauty. “Here, take it.”

“I… I couldn’t take your food like that!” The red-headed girl’s eyes were locked onto the skewers, drool rolling down her chin and dripping onto the ground. Her stomach was not helping either with how loud it was growling. But even though the skewers were being given to her for free, she was still reluctant to take them.

“I see. So you do not want the meat skewers in my hand?” Shizuku asked while waving them back and forth. The girl’s head moved along with Shizuku’s hand, and her eyes remained locked on the delicious-looking meat.

“I…. I couldn’t take other’s food.” The girl bit her lip as she choked out these words. In truth, she really wanted to take them, but her pride was stopping her.

“I see… so I bought this many for nothing…. I guess I will just go feed the fish with them. And here I thought you were hungry. I am sorry. I never knew you were part of the Drooling, Tummy Rumbling Race. ”

“Pfft!” An old lady behind Shizuku couldn’t hold back her laughter. She really found Shizuku to be amusing. “Girl, just take it. Sometimes, it is good to accept other’s goodwill.”

“I….” The red-headed girl lowered her head before finally, with great reluctance, stretched out her hand and took the five skewers. “Thank you….” Not even two seconds after giving her thanks did she start digging into the meat. Shizuku chuckled and pulled the girl to the side so that others could order meat. She watched as tears rolled down the red-headed girls cheeks as she gorged herself on the tasty meat and vegetables.
