TROA) Progression

The heat continued even as the years passed. I continued to work to find survivors and now had over forty thousand people alive and well in my base. With the heat and the oncoming threat of an ice age, everyone continued to work hard to build the base up more and more. I have no idea how deep our base goes anymore or how far out it has expanded. With weapons research and research in other fields, all of which were not limited by red tape, we were coming across new things.

Crop growth could show yields in as little as a month now. So, food supply was easy to procure. Meat was now being genetically created using plant based cells, which was a godsend. I think the biggest thing was the creation of gene treatment. This was a painful process, but it allowed people to grow stronger and smarter. Testing was on those who broke the law. Instead of killing people for causing trouble, they were made into test subjects.

With no more ethical concerns hindering us, there was no reason not to use what we could to benefit the masses. As for inward population growth, with the reduced age consent and marriage, our hospital was now booming with babies. To be honest, I never expected this to happen, but many of the girls I saved were more than willing to get married. No one was forced. Ice kept a good eye on things and made sure no one was doing things they should not.

Our military was also growing steadily. With Kevin in charge, I had no worries there. We had over ten thousand enlisted men and women. And another five thousand who were on base guard duty. These extra five thousand could also be called up at any time for a bigger battle. Of course, I did not plan to go to war with anyone just yet.

My level has also shot up. I was currently level 16.

While it has been slow going, the special xp farm I created has been expanded, and I have been using it a lot. The replicators did not seem to even notice they were locked up. Once I put enough materials into the large room, they would build more xp points for me. It was not until the year of the second wave that the heat started to break. The sad thing was that after hitting level 10, my progress really slowed. Just the past six levels have taken me a long time.

Jen has really gained a lot of confidence in the past few years. She has become known as the devil instructor. She trains the men and women who joined the army. Even Kevin said he was no longer her match. 

Although She has been resting for the past few months. My mother…. Well, she made a way for Jen and me to start a family. And well… it didn’t take long for us to do just that. Jen is now pregnant. 

But right now, I was outside the base. The hot weather was finally subsiding, and rain was starting to fall once more. The cool air that blew across my cheeks felt quite good. The trees around the base also looked as if they would review soon. What’s more, I even saw a few animals running around.

Life on earth is like a cockroach. It will take a lot to kill it all off. I thought the heat would have long killed off these animals, but like us humans, they must have hidden underground and searched for food at night.

Now, it was like fall or spring had hit. The rain fell and soaked the dry, arid ground, giving birth to new life. This was my home. The place I do not wish to give up. We have been slowly building up our forces. Working hard to gain new weapons. Some of which I have found to be quite incredible. 

When you have the world’s brightest minds all working together with no red tape, the things they can make are quite insane. Like we have a new kind of weapon. It’s like a rail gun but mixed with phase energy and a mini black hole. What is amazing is that the phase energy helps contain the suction force of the black hole, keeping it from sucking anything else in except the phase energy. And since phase energy was infinite, it could continuously burst out with power that we have captured and can then be used as a kind of magazine that goes into a weapon. Let’s just say I accidentally destroyed a mountain not too long ago with it. As for its name, I was given that task and have yet to figure one out yet. 

With all the good, I am sure the bad will come soon. The second wave was almost here. Once it arrives, a whole new level of difficulty will take place.
