Neo) An Errored System

“Neo! Don’t scare me like that!” The girl, Named Princess Bi Feng, jumped a mile. Her blonde hair fluttered as she turned around to see Neo’s teasing grin. “Dinner is still hot. Come eat. Or maybe I should just put it away since it looks like you already ate.”

Neo tilted her head and wondered how Princess Feng knew she had eaten already. “Are you a mind reader?”

“No! You got grease all over the place! Your face is covered in it. Did you not realize it? And why are you asking for sex!? We have never had sex and never will!” The Princess was feeling a headache coming on. 

“Just figured I would ask. You know, when you feel horny and want a partner, you just ask someone you think is cute.” Neo pursed her lips, her words causing Princess Feng’s cheeks to redden. 

“No means no. If you really need sex, I can call a maid in for you. They are all cute as well.” Princess Feng sighed. She had become friends with Neo by chance. The girl had suddenly appeared in the palace when some people were trying to kidnap her. But Neo, who had appeared out of nowhere, stopped them, saving her life. As a reward, Neo only asked for food once a day. After conversing back and forth for a while, the two had become friends of sorts. But Princess Feng couldn’t always keep up with the strange girl in front of her.

“Hmmm, cute maids. Okay, but I want two. This way, I can have extra fun.” Neo’s words made the princess’s face turn bright red. The princess was still trying to get used to Neo’s blunt, shameless remarks.

“Just sit and eat. I will arrange it later.” Princess Feng could only sigh. She pulled a chair out and sat down and watched as Neo dug into the food that was laid out. “What trouble did you cause today?”

“Mmm…. I am trying to figure out why they will not let me leave the city. They have tightened security quite a bit. Even the city’s sect wouldn’t give me a pass when I asked. Why do they have control over who comes and goes from the city? So stupid.” Neo complained. She tried to jump over the city wall, but they put up some barrier that was too annoying to break through, so she had to give up that route. But when she tried to walk through the gate area with the others, the guards stopped her.

“You have no spiritual qi. Of course, they will stop you. Have you thought about joining the Academy? I told you that I could get you in. If you prove your strength there, they will give you a pass. Then you can take on missions.” Princess Feng knew how strong Neo was. That day, when she was being kidnapped, she witnessed firsthand how strong and how scary this girl was. Her power was strange and even more powerful than the elite guards who were beaten by the kidnappers. Princess Feng did not know why no one was willing to recognize this.

“Academy….” Neo wrinkled her nose as she leaned back in the chair and pondered. “Will they let me go? Don’t they have test things to go in?”

“We can make an exception. I can get my father to talk to the academy and get you in through the back door. Although you might still need to take the entrance tests for show.” Princess Feng replied.

“Hmmm…. I guess I could go if it means I can finally leave the city. No one is willing to hire me, so I have no choice but to take things. Of course, no one seems to stop me from doing this either….” Neo never really thought about why this was, nor did she care. She had lived her life this way for the past two years since she came to this place. 

Neo did not remember where she came from or who she truly was. She only knew that she had woken up in an alley in this city and had been here ever since. The strange thing was what was called a system had also appeared when she woke up. For some reason, she felt she never had it before. But this system was strange. When she first woke up, her level was zero, but now it was one hundred.

Even all her stats were high. She also had elemental and Creation magic, which differed from this world’s idea of strength. She could not cultivate because she had nothing to cultivate with. She lacked everything a cultivator needed, but she was still able to stand on her own. 

From what she could tell, the system had malfunctioned in some way. While this might have kept her from getting some kind of cultivation system, from the looks of it, she could basically rule this city if she really wanted to. But she felt it was too bothersome to do so. She liked to be free, but the city itself had locked her in. The ancient barrier array that surrounded the city blacked her from being able to escape. Because of this, she was annoyed.

Hearing Neo agree to go to the academy, Princess Feng was very happy. “Good! I will go with you so we can be together.”

“Then we can have sex in the dorms at night.” Neo smiled. She felt this was a good idea.

Of course, her smile only lasted a few seconds when Princess Feng yelled out: “No sex!”
