TOBMW 32) Playing With Fire (Unedited)

The guards could only watch as Myu walked past them. They knew if they did try to stop her, it would not just be their weapons that would be set on fire. The leader of the group of guards gulped as he turned back to his men and yelled out: “What are you looking at!? Get back to your duties!”

“Umm… Thank you….” Tilly leaned against Myu’s neck. She felt very thankful for what Myu had done just now. 

“We are a team now, so I will help you when I can,” Myu replied. She did not think she did anything special. Tilly was now part of her family. Tilly relied on her for food and other things, so this was all stuff she was willing to do.

“Mmm….” Tilly smiled as she gave Myu’s neck a hug. She had not seen her parents in a long time, so she was happy she could finally greet them.

Myu, with Tilly’s directions, arrived at a large tree that had a wooden castle carved into it. The guards that stood at the small gate flew forward and stopped them from getting any closer. “Halt!”

“Tilly, can I burn him?” Myu asked while raising her hand that was wrapped in flames towards the guard in the front.

“No! Please don’t. He protects my family.” Tilly flew in front of Myu and looked at the Guard. “Do you not recognize me?”

“Hmm?” The guard squinted his eyes before widening them. “Princess! I am sorry I did not realize you were here!”

“It’s fine. I am only stopping in. I just wanted to meet my parents for a few minutes. Ummm… Can you call them out? I want them to meet my contractor.” Tilly wanted to enter, but she couldn’t she couldn’t. She would be teleported back before she could even enter the throne room.

“This….” The guard hesitated but suddenly thought of something before bowing his head. “I will relay the message.”

“Thank you.” Tilly could only hope they would agree, She knew she was asking a lot since they would need an escort to come out of the castle, but she really wanted to see them and have them meet Myu.

 Myu sat down and began juggling balls of fire in the air. The other guards at the gate all cringed at the sight of the flaming balls that were twice the size of their bodies. If the young human girl were to miss any of them and they flew towards them or the tree, the entire castle would be burnt to the ground! Sweat dropped down their foreheads as they watched the swirling balls of fire. 

“Heh….” A small laugh escaped Myu’s lips as she suddenly let go of the balls of fire causing all the guards to yell out. 

“No! What are you….. Huh?” The guards who had rushed forward to protect the castle all stopped in place as they watched the human girl lie down on the ground while the balls of fire continued to spin in a circle as if there was someone still juggling them.

Myu grinned from ear to ear. She liked their reactions. She lay there staring up at the treetops, watching the sway back and forth. She felt it was kind of amazing that this was actually inside the tower. A tower that was by no means the same width as this floor but had so much life as if she was out in the real world. This only proved that this tower was indeed built by the gods. 

Myu raised her hand up towards the trees with her fingers spread out, letting the light that passed through them to fall on her face. “Rio, I am on the second floor now. I have to do a quest before I can even fight the second floor boss. I could just burn down the entire forest, but my new companion asked me not to.”

The guards who were listening to the little girl’s words all shivered in fear, they realized that their very existence was probably saved by their princess. They made mental notes to make sure they treated her much better from now on. 

“Mistress Flame…. Mistress Flame….” Tilly called out to Myu, who was just staring blankly at the sky. “Mistress Flame!”

“Hmmm? Tilly, just call me by my name…. This mistress stuff is annoying.” Myu slowly got up. She reached up and sucked in the balls of flame that were still spinning around in the air.

“Then, Myu, my parents will be out any moment.” Tilly smiled as she flew over and landed on Myu’s shoulder.

“Oh?” Myu patted Tilly on the head and stood up. She looked around to see a bunch more porters standing in the air with their wooden spears. “Tilly, why do your people use sticks as weapons?”

“Because we can not forge weapons….” Tilly replied. She also hated how underdeveloped her home was. After seeing the human world filled with mystery, she felt her home was far from being able to defend itself. But for some reason, monsters stay clear of this place.

“Tilly, you make it sound as if we are weak!” A refined stern voice sounded overhead. Myu looked up to see an older man porter wearing green robes with an elegantly dressed female porter wearing a white gown next to him flying over. 

“Tilly, are they your parents?” Myu asked curiously. She never met someone who was supposed to be a royal before.

“Yes, this is my father and mother.”
