YITLOF: Ch: 41) Now A B-Rank Mission?

Yuki looked at the puddle as she passed by it but did not do anything. She could tell right away that something was wrong. It had not rained for days so there should not be a puddle anywhere around here. She looked up at Kakashi and saw that he was walking as normal and decided to leave it for now. She figured he probably had a reason to be ignoring it.

As the group continued walking, Kakashi slowly lagged behind, it was then that it happened. Two figures rose up from the puddle. One jumped over Kakashi, wrapping him with a saw chain that had sharp blades on it. Both figures were holding on to one end of the chain each. “One down!”

Kakashi’s eyes widened as his body was suddenly ripped to shreds by the saw chain. Naruto and Sakura screamed out in shock as the strange men suddenly appeared behind Naruto. “Two….”

“First dance alternative….” Yuki held hilt of her Sode no Shirayuki, closed her eyes for a second before suddenly disappearing. She reappeared on the other side of the two strange men still holding the hilt of her sword. It looked as if she had never drawn it from start to finish but the two ice sculptures of the strange men said otherwise. Their body began to split into multi pieces before tumbling down to the ground. Yuki’s eyes were cold as she turned and looked at the scene in front of her. She then gazed at Naruto who was standing there in shock and clicked her tongue.

“Yuki…. We would have at least gotten some information from them….” Kakashi let out a long sigh. He had wanted to try to extract some information but Yuki cut them in multiple pieces. Even if he was a little upset, he was still shocked at Yuki’s speed. His sharingan could not keep up! He had tried but Yuki’s speed was way too fast!

“I do not know how to show mercy to villains.” Yuki replied while bowing her head. “I apologize.”

“It’s fine. They would probably have killed themselves anyway before I got anything out of them. But we will need to spar again. Your speed has grown. I can not be left behind.” As much as he hated it he could only spar with Yuki to keep up or he would feel like she was the sensei and not him.

Yuki smiled and shook her head. “More importantly.” Yuki turned towards Naruto and yelled out: “Naruto! What the hell was that!? How many times do I have to tell you to stop losing focus! We are on a mission and you almost got yourself killed due to your carelessness!”

“What!? Yuki, that is not fair! They appeared out of no wh…! Ouch!! Damn it Hinata!” Naruto wanted to argue but was hammered in the head by Hinata.

“Just be lucky that Yuki was willing to save your dumb ass. Did you not see the puddle on the ground and find it odd!!? Me and Sakura were whispering to each other about it but you! You just stand there like an idiot while even Sakakura moved to protect our client! You made such a big mistake and you want to argue and say it was not fair!?” Hinata was not being easy with her words. She was quite angry. Because she knew if something happened to him Yuki would be sad.

“Okay enough. Naruto, Hinata is right. This time you were not paying attention. This is a failure as a ninja. You need to always be aware of your surroundings at all times.” Kakashi stepped in. “But now you know that even the slightest mistakes can get you killed.”

“I understand….” Naruto lowered his head. He took a peek at Yuki who was no longer even looking at him and sighed. He felt quite embarrassed. He had let his guard down too easily and now he made a fool of himself in front of the girl he loved.

“Tazuna, you have a lot of explaining to do. Those two were ninja from the hidden mist. Chuunins to be exact. So tell me why were these two after us? Who was their main target? Was it one of us or you Tazuna? We have not heard that there are ninjas after you. Our mission was to simply protect you from thieves and gangs. This has now become at least a B rank mission. This was supposed to be simple protection until you finished the bridge. If it was known that ninjas were after you this mission would have been set as the more expensive B rank mission. I am sure you had a reason but it causes problems when you lie about the mission. We are now operating outside of our duties.” Kakashi’s words were making Tazuna sweat. He knew he lied but he still had no choice.

“Kakashi sensei stop beating around the bush. You know for a fact that we will be okay.” Yuki stepped in. She knew he was scaring the old man but she felt this was enough. “Out of all of us Sakura and Naruto are at the minimum high level genin and still need to learn a lot but this does not mean they can not handle the current situation. You also have Hinata and I here as well. If anything I think this is a perfect team for this mission. It will give Sakura and Naruto the proper training they will need for future missions like this under the protection of three people who are at Jonin level.”

Kakashi let out a sigh as he stared at the young girl. “Alright! I can not argue with that. Sometimes I feel like I am talking to some old woman when talking to you. Your ability to judge situations is alway on point. We will continue but Tazuna you need to explain things from the start.”
