YITLOF: Ch: 39) C Rank Mission!

“Nyaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!” A fat cat cried out.

“Ohh my cute little Tora-chan!” An overly heavily make-up wearing woman hugged and squeezed her cat with everything she had. This woman was the Fire Country’s Lord’s Wife, Madam Shijimi and the cat's name was Tora. “My cute little Tora Chan, I was so worried!”

“Hahahaha! Stupid cat, this will tea- ouch! Hinta, why did you hit me!?” Natruto yelled out while rubbing his head feeling aggrieved.

“Don’t act up in front of clients, Natruto.”  Yuki scolded, causing Naruto to drop his head. The girl he loved had scolded him! And for some reason Hinta and Sakara both had smug expressions on their faces!

“Humph! Such a rude child. My Tora is not a stupid cat. He is a loveable cat that loves his mommy!”   Fire Country’s Lord’s Wife, Madam Shijimi snorted before walking out of the room. She made sure to glare at Naruto once more before leaving though.

Hiruzen ignored everything that was going on around him as he looked at the list in his hand. “Now then… Let’s see… Team 7’s next mission is babysitting an elder’s grandson, shopping in the neighboring village and to help with potato digging. There is also an investigation about the strange noise near Yuki’s house at night.”

When Hinta heard the last mission she became tense for some reason. She had to make sure she stopped her giggling fits on the roof while holding Yuki’s underwear and reading the holy book. If Yuki ever found out she might come to hate her!

“No! Absolutely not! I want a better mission! Old man, do you think our team really needs to do these crappy missions!?” Naruto yelled out. Hiruzen scratched his head as he looked at the five people of team seven. With Kakashi, Yuki and Hinata the team already had three jonin level, if they were to cover Naruto and Sakura then maybe….

“Iruka what do you think?” Hiruzen asked as he leaned back.

Iruka stepped forward and looked at team seven and sighed. “While I would like to say no because Naruto and Sakura need more time to get used to things. Having Yuki and Hinata sitting around doing D rank level missions is not very productive. What if we give them that C rank mission?”

“Hmm…. I do not see why not. A protection mission might be good. Alright we will settle with this. Iruka let him in.” Hiruzen puffed on his pipe with a smirk.

A minute later….

“What’s this? They are all a bunch of brats. Especially the shortest one with the super stupid looking face. Hey kid, are you really a ninja?” An old man with a rope around his head and a pack on his back while carrying a bottle of sake walked in. He had a pair of glasses on his face and a short beard.

“Haha! He said short!” Naruto giggled as everyone stood around him. As he looked at the highest he realized he was the shortest one here! “Hey you damn old man!”

“Naruto!” Yuki yelled out, quieting down the angered orange clad boy. Yuki then looked at the old man and narrowed her eyes. “For an old man who is making a request I think it would be good not to anger those who are to escort and protect you on this mission. While Naruto acts the way he does, he is by no means weak.”

“Tch. Scolded by a young girl. Has my age really gotten to me?” The old man snorted. He took another swig of his sake before saying: “I am the super expert bridge builder Tazuna! I expect you to provide me with protection until I get back to my country and complete the bridge.“

“Alright we will meet at the gates in two hours then. Take on the necessities.” Kakashi clapped his hands. He wanted to take a small break away from all these people and read a few pages of his book. He had just gotten his hands on a new girl's love novel and wanted to fully read it. There were limited copies and he was able to get his hands on two. One was to be an untouched copy for his collection while the other was for him to read but…. His still in the wrapper version had been stolen right from his house! He first thought he had misplaced it but after tearing his whole apartment apart he could not find it anywhere. What made things worse was that he could not even report it missing! In a certain house near the academy in a certain drawer on a night stand there was a certain book that if Kakshi were to see it would immediately yell out, that’s mine!

After everyone left, Yuki and Hinata both separated from the others and headed towards home to get the things they would need for a long journey. “Yuki, is it just me or does this seem like it is going to be not so easy.”

“You felt it too?” Yuki also felt this mission was strange. The man wanted an escort but he was only a bridge builder it was not like he was some high profile person. “Either way, the mission will start in two hours. I will mention it to Kakashi Sensei later. For now we should just get the bare minimum. It’s going to suck not being able to bathe but there is nothing we can do about that.” This was the only thing Yuki hated about missions. No baths!

“I can always help you wipe your body down if we have a chance.” Hinata’s eyes lit up as she saw this as a chance!

“Mmm… Maybe. But I doubt it. If things go according to what we think then we will probably not get time for such luxuries. Remember, no need to hold back any more. We are now genin, we can go all out on our missions. Protecting the escort is what is our job at this time. But do not abandon Sakura or Naruto either. If they are about to die. Abandon the old man and protect them instead.”

Hinata nodded her head as she said: “Understood!”
