It showed an innocent Hello Kitty labeled “my dreams” picking flowers, being menaced by a bigger guy who looks suspiciously like Robin Hood labeled “capitalism” with a knife. This juxtaposition of images was wrong in general given that Hello Kitty is a creation of pure capitalistic money making & Robin Hood redistributes wealth, but that wasn’t my complaint. Big economic systems aren’t ideologically run. They might have been started by ideologues, but for a system to have longevity it has to emulate basic human tendencies that have repeated themselves throughout history. Humans try & act like we’re not animals but in the end we are in all our sweaty, smelly, messy glory & biology runs the show. The system we have is a capitalist/socialist hybrid with huge cronyism & corruption elements. Is it actually a system? Whatever it is, It’s not ideal, but I question if any system is or even can be? Things could definitely be improved. This is not to be a capitalist apologist, but most people don’t get to achieve their true dreams under any system, no matter the system & certain systems rub certain people the wrong way & others rub other people the right way. Part of the reason we have laws in the first place is to temper natural human tendencies that go directly against living in a society under a system in the first place! Anyhow, I’m tired of people trying to pin their own difficulties on this or that system or influence group or whatever. Life is hard, if it wasn’t it would be boring. No system works, getting them to function requires a lot of input from everyone & it’s never smooth, it’s always messy & sort of works. Ideologies only work on paper.
