I just had a big shift in my view of managerial culture. Managerial culture is a company's leadership practice that defines & maintains its work culture. It's made up of the values, norms, practices & behaviors that leaders embrace & it shapes many aspects of the company, including decision-making, employee management & its identity. Managerial Culture has bled into the broader culture for a while. Just because that’s the nature of culture, it mixes upon contact. I’ve opposed managerial culture ever since I became aware of it. Managerial culture has been on the ascendant my whole life & it feels like it's speeding up instead of slowing down. The language used, the shaping of opinion, the passivity, all of it rubbed me wrong. I just realized that with the world being more complex & more internationalism occurring, good managers are actually crucial. My problem is that I haven’t experienced many good managers. I realized that because I haven’t experienced much good management or my other laundry list of poor excuses for professions doesn’t mean the position is inherently bad. I can’t judge dentists from an 1849 view, it’s 2024. This attitude was developed when I didn’t have as much control over my life as I wanted. I view the Democrat party as the managerial party. They need to manage correctly. The hostility I've felt towards the Democrats is from dealing with so many crappy managers over time & a working-class chip on my shoulder. I’m not ignorant or foolish enough to be pushed into the Trump net. But, from where I’m at, I feel like I can shoe-horn myself in with the Democrats & they need to accept me based on good managerial culture. If I’m being honest with myself, there is no working-class takeover, no government fall, I’m a boss, I’ve been a boss for a while. There is a lot of coming to grips people have to do. A lot that I have to do. Now is as good a time as ever to do it.
