I keep having dreams about living in different, old houses. I decided that this means something about change so I started to think about that a bit. I love old stuff, not out of some sense that old times were better, I just like aesthetic cohesion. It’s harder to see that in the chaos of the present, while it’s easier to cherry-pick from the past or project a vision into the future. We have a lot of people that are clinging to the past, like time traveling hoarders. We have people so obsessed with the idea that this story line is broken that they are obsessed with the idea of infinite realities, alternate dimensions & glitches in the matrix. I think it’s a lot of people that are viewing the world through their phones & the phones are just creating an increasingly narrow reality tunnel. Then they see something outside of their narrow reality tunnel & are shocked. But, things are changing, always, eternally. Change is the way of the world. You can carry something solid that doesn’t change or is harder to change in you, but everything outside of you & even you yourself are going to change & that’s a good thing. As with all things there are shades & degrees. There is value in collecting some things, but not enough people share their collections with the world. Some people cling so tightly to things that they hoard trash, old newspapers, cans, truly useless stuff. Letting things go & letting time & materials flow like water is the way. Stagnant water doesn’t help anyone, it causes decay, harbors disease & trash & smells bad. Stagnant culture, money & material possessions are the same. They don’t do you any favors unless they flow.
