Yeah, sorry chief, but I'm gonna hard disagree with the alphabetical order elimination of Finetime being an ass-pull. Thing is, the Dot is actually guiding people into the slugs, made obvious when the Dot is telling Lindy to move forward into the path of the slug, and more obvious when it tries to outright murder her, and successfully kills Ricky. The slugs really aren't doing anything different from a Venus fly-trap. Plus, with how much humans will sort databases by name, it doesn't feel like a stretch to me that an artificial intelligence would do something similar. Plus, the comparison to the Doctor's Daughter... yeah not seeing it. It's like critiquing The Terminator for killing every Sarah Connor in California before actually getting to Linda Hamilton, and comparing that to Weyland-Yutani not actually caring about xenomorphs killing their employees, prioritizing profits over people. Also, the social media subtext being incompatible with the literal manipulation, ostracizing, and murder of human beings... like, Facebook did psychological experiments on its users. There's a TikTok of a woman pointing out how her partner's comments section of a video is completely different from her comments section of THAT SAME VIDEO. Twitter... well, if I need to explain that, then I think it's fair to say humanity had a good run. At least I know you work long hours in the TV industry and have a loving wife and cats, otherwise I'd take issue with you missing the mark this badly. Unironically, I believe this critique is so bad that I'd go so far as to say Bowlestrek arguing "'zoomers bad and stoopid' was this episode's entire message" (paraphrasing here) is a better take. And I think Bowlestrek is an absolute bigot.

Really good review and thoughtful analysis of the ending that I absolutely love. Seriously, Ncuti is amazing. I will say however given the subject matter, I was hoping for a Bowelstrek joke to tie in with the racism within Lindy and the people of Finetime. Were you tempted to make one?
