Hello, everyone!
Firstly, I want to apologise for the lack of updates over the past few weeks and months. My review of 'Doctor Who: 73 Yards' dropped and then my whole Summer got dominated with intense, lengthy TV freelance work. However, that was only a part of what's been occupying mine and Yaz's life for the past 4 months but couldn't talk about until now.
Myself and Yaz have managed to buy a house and we've been organising all the logistics, paperwork and moving. We finally crossed the finish line today. Obviously, it's not all business as usual yet as we have to organise the new place but we are officially out of the home we've been renting for the past 7 years and into our new one. I didn't want to mention this earlier just in case the purchase fell through but now that it's actually happened I can say that's what has happened this year. As a TV Freelancer it's been a comically difficult process to arrange a mortgage and there were some phone calls where I had to explain to some poor bank-staff member "Yes, Doctor Who YouTuber is a real job" but we finally got there.
The next few weeks will be spent setting up the new MrTARDIS HQ and hopefully the livestreams will resume on November 18th, just after the BBC's Children In Need telethon where there might be something 'Doctor Who' related and before the show's anniversary.
The move has been incredibly stressful and all-consuming which is why there's been so few videos but I genuinely can't wait to get back to work. I also started my ADHD medication this past week so that might make me more productive. Who knows!? All I know right now is that for 3-4 hours a day I feel like a jet engine and I'm not sure if that's meant to happen.
As my Patrons, I hugely appreciate your support even though content has been light over the Summer. Your continued support is a big reason why myself and Yaz were able to start this new chapter of our lives. The plan, once the new office space is set up, is to finish the Season 1 reviews and complete any overdue projects. Thank you for your patience during this time!
Also, due to the audience I've garnered over the years I know many of you are grieving after the recent US election which will have worldwide consequences. Obviously as a Brit (which means we're about 5 years behind America but we're gonna do it more polite but worse) there's only so much I can do but my e-mails and DMs are always open if you want to vent. I know many of you have already reached out for advice and all I can say right now is that now is the time to mobilise in your community. Find local orgs that hold your values and join. You don't even have to change the world right now, but that sense of community is vital during these times and you can make on-the-ground changes. This advice counts double if you live in a Red State.
Also, if you can join a union then join a union. If you can't join a union, then form a union.
I'd love to watch 'Remembrance of the Daleks' in anti-fascist solidarity, but Royal Mail appear to have lost my Season 25 Collection and according to their tracking website it's bouncing between Manchester, Wigan and Warrington instead of finding my letter-box. It's a funny mental image, but how else will I know that "Happiness Will Prevail" if I can't watch peak Seventh Doctor?
Anyway, take care of yourselves. Stay safe. Find community. Much love. I'll see you soon.
