Suggest your own Monsters!

Hello everyone!

Today, I'm giving you the opportunity to suggest your own vanilla game-fitting monsters for our new Vanilla Quests Expanded mod.

Make sure to read the primer, but other than that, we're very open. We want these monsters to fit into the existing RimWorld lore as much as possible, so no nosferatus, but sanguophages are fine!

Of course there's no guarantee we will do them all, but if the idea really works, we will implement it!

Suggest your own Monsters!

This Rimworld Anima-Leshen lives In the Anima Forest Biome??? *wink wink*

Dom Speziale

I have just send in my own suggestion, was stuck for a long time on an idea that i myself liked, but i got one :). Hope it gives inspiration. In short: Amphibious mudskipper/anglerfish combo with an flashbang on its head Edit: send in the other one that was floating in my head: A big floating sheep that sleeps while moving and causes other creatures around it to fall asleep faster (or almost instantly in a burst if you piss it of)

Well, if you're gonna add a witcher tribute in the poster, you'll have to have a leshy. Least something similar to it. Like a anomaly/archotech/animus leshy fiend.

I have submitted In its normal state, the Resting spider appears as a Meter long modified trapdoor spider. Its legs are thin and lengthy, while its abdomen looks flattened, like the back of a chair even. Its outer layer feels like polished wood to the touch, aside from the two large mandibles hanging from its underbelly, the appendage its attached to is much more spider-y in appearance. The Resting spider was modified for a peculiar purpose. In its infancy of development, the creature was designed as an organic ecosystem observer. It would be grown, then enhanced with bionic equipment to record things it saw. Its peculiar wooden outer layer was designed as such so the spider could camouflage as fallen trees while observing The company developing this creatures iterated on its design for other purposes as the years went by. It gained a new purpose, that of an assassin. It hunts the opposition of the company, hiding in their homes and dragging them off to be killed It can disguise itself as a wooden dining chair, targeting tables in a colony to seat itself at. It will move in during the night, seating itself there. After learning its targets routine, it will spring to life whilst a pawn is sitting on it. Using its large mandibles, it can inflict terrible disabling wounds to its victim. Once they’re down, the spider will drag the poor soul into the forest for consumption. The spider is, unlike its insectoid brethren, very sensitive to toxic environments. Exposure to tox gas can induce a heart attack. This will disable it. The spider is also quite weak to blunt damage due to its brittle exterior. When arriving in a new environment, the crawler will carry with it its last victims corpse, which when approached will trigger a red letter like the monolith or ancient danger. When hiding, it will leave a “furniture husk” somewhere nearby, which is its previous molted layer

Some Monster which is starting to spread deseases when it appears would be nice.

Tribbles! Have them breed super fast so you have to get rid of them before they lag your computer to death, just like the ones from Star Trek

crabitalism

What about a person whose entire body has been taken over by Luciferium that has gone out of control making them a berserk super monster?

dalr753

Gremlins! (Widgets) Cute, fluffy, and docile pets from birth. If they get wet they spawn more as fluffy balls. If they eat at between Midnight and 6am they turn into Cocoons, if those hatch they become mischievous, dangerously violent, and crazily fun-loving green looking goblins. Capable of working (and sabotaging) complex machinery and devices . Vulnerable to Sunlight and bright lights in general.

Computica

As I said, less ‚anomaly entity’ and more ‚genetically grown animal’. Ideally fitting the base game without mental gymnastics.

Oskar Potocki

How about Slender Man or maybe Siren Head?

dalr753

Lovin that space dino hunting Dundee-Geralt looking dude

Juta Mae

I really like the ability to make our own suggestions. I hope this happens again. With creatures

the good fat cat clan

I hope there's a lot of Witcher-inspired creatures :D

Davide Celli

This was fun to come up with an idea for. I hope you get some inspiration from the one I submitted. 😁

Chance713

I have already submitted 3 different entries, gotta slow down a lil bit

Submitted the Bio-Sweep(tm), a corporate solution to your pest problem, whether there is an infestation or you're clearing an area for your future colony without harming crops, staff* or assets! Upon receipt of payment, a pod will be sent to the location(s) of your choice and Bio-Sweep(tm) will reach every nook and cranny to get rid of your pests, big or small with a 2 stage system! Easy to access pests will be destroyed on sight, and hard to reach pests will be gassed. The corporation isn't liable for damages incurred from sweeps delivered to incorrect locations, whether by the customer, the corporation or a 3rd party, nor will it be held liable in case of a faulty delivery vehicles de-orbiting, and landing near zoos, wildlife preserves, farms or homes. /// end of ancient corporate advert. On impact, should you be unfortunate enough to witness one, the Bio-Sweep(tm) pod will disperse a number of animals (sweepers/sweepups?) derived from ratting dogs with a sack of a bright, volatile liquid protruding from their heads, they'll quickly wake from hibernation and begin hunting since their metabolisms are so fast that they will die within hours if they don't eat. They are incredibly fast will eat their prey alive! And as long as they can sense prey on the map, they will keep trying to get it until they starve to death, if there is no more prey, they will eat other sweepers until one remains and starves. On their death, a muscle in their heads relaxes and releases the liquid which, on contact with the atmosphere, turns into a cloud of toxic gas meant to kill any remaining prey. As tools, they're designed not to hunt humans* if you shoot it, it won’t fight back but if you kill it, it'll release the gas. A few incidents got them banned from use but old stock may still be in orbit! And some extra delivery controllers available at HQ. So if you want a trophy, you have to find a way to keep that sack on its head intact. You'll have to hunt it, knock it out and operate before its metabolism kills it and renders it useless as a trophy. *Their genetic code that filters out humans may not be up-to-date with the latest genetic engineering databases.

This oughta be fun!

Submitted to the form a Rimworld ified Leshen - inspired by the Witcher. originally made in a lab from scientists trying to understand Animus trees, it escaped and now acts as a forest guardian.

We’re not actually looking for monsters that appear when something happens. The monsters in this mod all appear in their separate quests.

Oskar Potocki

How about a monster that gets summoned if an anima tree is destroyed? It could be a warped version of the Guaranlen dryads and can summon smaller dryads to help in combat (yes I know these are two separate trees, but in my head magic tree A and magic tree B are somehow related). On top of the psychic scream, It could also use some of the psycasting abilities like burden, chaos skip, berserk and/or stun. Or maybe it could incapacitate any psycasters. I'm imagining it looks reptilian like SCP 682.

Alissa DeWitt

HELL YES! I'm looking forward loading this mod!

Davide Celli

Oops, reading comprehension skills strike again. I am not married to the name, mostly since I suck at names and usually go with the first thing that pops in my head.

Peter Dolin

Remember to pop it in the google form!

Oskar Potocki

I want to propose a rimworldified dragon. A creature similair to a Boomalope, in that it produces its own chemfuel and can explode if angered, but other than boomalopes it is actually capable of igniting the stuff at will while spitting it at people. It would be hilarious if there was a small chance that it blows itself up, by accident.

Peter Dolin

Make sure to use the form. We're not looking for just names, names are easy to come up with.

Oskar Potocki

Wendigos and Skin changers
