Blurbs--An author's nightmare

It never feels like you can get across what the story means, who the characters are and the things that you the readers enjoy. Its the messiest and usually the most crucial bit of writing that we do. Case and point I had a mate working on a blurb for about 4 hours yesterday losing his absolute mind.
SO! I thought why the hell do that, why don't I ask all you fine people. What do you think of these two blurbs? Which one do you like the most? Blurb A has the black background and Blurb B has the white background!

The one on white is written for those who have read the previous books; the one on black also includes those who are new to the series.
