Following a failed insurrection that posed a logistic and moral threat to the denizens of the Kapalapak Cluster, the imperial agents who finally quelled the rebellion left a generations-long edict of penance limiting the scope of the standing armies. As a result the serf populations, reorganized into paramilitary groups under patronage of various guilds and trade houses, largely lack formal military supplies of more robust subsector defense forces. Often making due with heirloom or sanctioned improvised equipment to stave off external threats; or to settle political rivalries.
More a local classification of vehicle than a set pattern Refusers take many forms depending on the available technological or political capital of the worlds they serve. From the Halafaas farmer enclave and their armored grav-sledges, to the Dymantix Baronies and their umbilical steam tractors. But the “Sump Divers” disposal crews of Atelier Rex prefer the Oxbull waste management truck.
The Oxbull, engineered for rugged driving conditions with adequate shielding to contain and transport a variety of dangerous waste cargo, makes an ideal refit to Refusers.
Typically only armed with minimal defense weapons to keep crew safe from aggressive fauna and urban pirates, the Oxbull can be modified with an additional turret or have its lifting arms substituted without rebuilding the entire chassis.
Its solid constructed hopper converted to the transport of persons, or ferrying equipment and ammunition.
