VaM Thin Twin 1.0

Dramatically reduce your VaM startup time and speed up the experience while using it!

When you subscribe to any of the tiers you will receive an email with your copy of Vam Thin Twin updated to the latest version. When a new version is ready, it will be sent out to all patreons.

This tool seamlessly integrates with your VaM installation, providing shortcuts to automatically create and start a thinned-down version of your VaM installation that only contains the files you will need.

Currently, the Thin Twin selects only the files that you have marked as Favorite, and their dependencies. If you want to have a scene or other resource in the Thin VaM, mark it as Favorite. More filters and customizations will be available for supporters. Please bring up your ideas and suggestions in the comments!

1 - How to install VaM Thin Twin

Just drop VaM_ThinTwin.exe and VaM_ThinTwin.license_YourUsername.txt in your VaM installation directory, next to VaM.exe .

2 - First time launch

Double-click VaM_ThinTwin.exe . It will automatically create the thin clone of your VaM installation, and shortcuts to quickly start it on the mode of your choice.

The thin VaM always contains only your Favorites, and the dependencies that they need; so launching it takes a fraction of the time it takes to start an installation with hundreds of var files.

By default, it will be located at the same level as your main VaM installation, and it will have the name VaM_thin. Note that most of the files and folders inside this thin clone are links, so they do not use up extra space in your disk! Since files are not moved around, you'll notice that the process is almost instant.

3 - Launching the VaM Thin Twin

Now you can use the shortcuts next to your usual VaM shortcuts to launch the Thin VaM:

If your Favorites changed, you can use the Update + Launch shortcuts to update the clone, and launch VaM automatically right after.

If your selection hasn't changed since last time, you can skip the update and directly use the Launch shortcuts.
