Just have to share with everyone interested in modding

Sometimes while modding you may create a statistic, a hidden variable to track things behind the scenes. Maybe it's how many times a sim has done an action or a countdown until something should happen. Problem is: testing it and seeing what that value is. You could make a notification appear when it hits a certain value or perhaps if you're a better coder than I you can make a notification that shows the current value (if anyone knows how to do that let me know)

But the other day I stumbled upon a brilliantly simple solution:
Make an Aspiration just for testing! you can assign all of your important variables as goals and as long as they remain uncompleted you can just track them in realtime. If you want to be fancy you could even assign rewarded goals to make sure your testing sims are living fulfilled lives (a problem I run into sometimes)

Anyway I hope somebody can use that little Sims 4 modding hack. Maybe others have already thought of it but I felt pretty dang clever when it struck me.

the very first tutorials I started with were by Sims ModelSimmer. his first few entries in this series use Mod Constructor V4 but the later ones use V5. Here's one that walks trough making a trait: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUQybNVu63g&list=PLXzpNMzvL7p5LJzJDIIh0VjSosPyeKdSb&index=14

Any good tutorials for someone that's always wanted to try modding, but gets lost before they even get started? (specifically related to aspirations/traits)

This is a great idea! As an aspiring modder I'm taking notes
