The Birth of an American Town ~ Episode 3

I've finally completed the most personal project I've ever made for the channel (which is a bit ironic since I don't even appear in it). The three episodes of The Birth of an American Town ended up clocking in at more than 2 hours, so I kinda accidentally made a feature film (again).

While it isn't surprising that an aesthetically retro hyper-specific microhistory about an obscure Massachusetts town doesn't exactly rack up the views, it felt very cathartic connecting with my hometown and my boyhood while researching and writing this, not to mention spending days on end driving all over the Metrowest Boston area getting footage in all seasons and all weather. I'm especially proud of it because it features a lot of my own scholarship, and draws on many sources which have not been exposed to a wide audience in 150 years or more. Enjoy!
