Apple seems to be pushing Patreon to apply their in-app fees to subscriptions on the platform. Because of this, subscribing through the apple IOS app will cost 30% more starting from November 2024. According to Patreon, this would only apply to new subscriptions. If you are using the app, I recommend subscribing through the website version of Patreon from now on.
In fact, I would personally recommend uninstalling the IOS app entirely, if you have it. Patreon seems to be using this as an excuse to get rid of some features they have been trying to sunset since like 2017, in particular per-work payment method that some of the creators prefer, and isn't being super accommodating about making it possible to opt out of apple platform entirely. So far, they are using the numbers of people who use the apple IOS patreon app as an excuse. It doesn't affect me since my tiers are paid on a monthly basis, but it's a good (and free) sign of solidarity with other creators, I think.
