I think you are misunderstanding something. It's a town on the human side not that far from the elves. That's why there's a lot of them there. It still falls under the human kingdom's jurisdiction and that's told by the existence of the previous governor.

@Ralph Isn't there always more to the story than we see at first? :P Fun chapter. I think it's funny how Welrond says no Royal strings attached, but really he assumes Ast and Sylvia will hook up. No wonder he doesn't push. He can look like he's respecting the Hestizo history while still getting what he wants eventually. Just takes some patience. Genius!

I think the king sucker them with the castle! I think the elve Queen won’t let just anyone take the area over, and causes everyone to leave. We definitely will have an awesome meeting between the Queen and Asti. Awesome chapter

Yeah, I think Kindra is kinda like the serial mom type of character. The type of woman who loves children, takes in strays, and cares little of anything other than family. If she had married, she would have probably had loads of kids, but since she found Ast, she never really got around to it. Now that he's of age, though, she supports him building a large harem, because every woman he claims becomes a new daughter, and each new daughter is an extra source of grandbabies... :-)
