Chapter 51: What do you do when your emo friend sends you the message, “don’t come to school tomorrow”?

It was very rude among adults of all the magical species and a good way to start a fight, but magical kids always liked probing each other with mana strings. A kind of punk test. Strength was the only real measure of hierarchy, and the fastest way to find out where someone else stood was by probing them with minor mana attacks.

Just like Telepatian himself, his friends also had no experience with non-magical beings. So Jack collapsed and started spasming from the small mana attacks by Telepatian’s friends.

“What’s wrong with it? Tell it to get up?” one of the dryad noble kids said.

“What a weak pet,” another one said.

Telepatian exuded his rageful mana into the atmosphere. The veins on his head were bulging.

“Hey, stop, he’s gonna have another freakout again,” the small girl said.

Time stopped in the banquet hall. Every atom, every molecule.

Telepatian would have killed all of the other noble dryad kids if it wasn’t for the imperial level magical blueprints engraved into the dryad castle.

The anti-mana engraving activated and all mana in the room vanished.

The noble dryad kids dropped to the floor.

“Fucking psycho whore kid!” one of the boys said.

“He always does this shit, can’t take a joke,” another one said.

A bunch of guards stormed in.

“W-Why did you hurt my friend! You are all trash!” Telepatian said.

“Just chill, why do you always have to be so dramatic. It’s really annoying. We were just playing,” the girl said.

“I never want to see you again! Leave!” Telepatian said, with tears in his eyes.

The other kids started laughing and left. Jack was still blacked out. A healer came and took care of him. There was only a little peripheral nervous system damage.

The next day, Jack woke up very sore and somewhat recovered.

Is it weird if I ask for those maids again? I wanna see the blond one again. How would Miranda look as a blonde?

He called for breakfast and discovered that Telepatian was waiting outside his door. He apologized a lot and showed a recording of everything that happened. Even his outburst at the end.

“My dude. I am probably hypocritical for saying this, but you gotta learn some politics. You’re gonna be king, right? or something like that. You’ve gotta learn to deal with assholes. You can’t be like me, just attacking everyone who pisses you off,” Jack said.

“What do you mean? have you ever been in a fight?” Telepatian said.

“Oh, yeah. Plenty. Even killed a few people. I lost count. But only with guns. One I did with a knife. That felt like a real fight. Guns are a little meh,” Jack said.

“Y-You’re a warrior! Please tell me more about your adventures!” Telepatian said.

“Yeah sure, but I am also not ignoring your deflection. You know,” Jack said. “We’ve been hanging out for a while now, and… your life feels kinda empty. Where’s your parents? do you have any siblings? I only see like… workers around you,” Jack said.

Telepatian was silent and stared at the floor.

“Sorry, lemme tell you about my adventures!” Jack said.

After telling him all about his battles and and answering all the elaboratory questions Telepatian asked him, they decided to do some more mana training. That’s when it happened:

He explained to Telepatian what happened.

“What! I thought you already had at least rank 3 of that skill. It’s amazing how underdeveloped humans are. I have heard about the system integrating unmagical worlds, but this is severe,” Telepatian said.

“What do you mean?”

“Ehm… I’m actually not allowed to say. Or I’ll have to pay a heavy penalty to the system. It was one of the conditions to summon the first human, I’m sorry!” Telepatian said.

“Don’t worry dude, I don’t want anything bad happening to you. It’s fine,” Jack said.

“Thank you. So, rank 1 huh… I guess that would be… I’m not sure. How fast it evolves your mana depends on a lot of factor. Not just the mana training itself. Mhmm… maybe after training for one year every day for 8 hours, your Mana Sense: Rank 1 will change to rank 2? I’m really not sure,” Telepatian said. “Oh crap! I just lost 3 skill points!” Telepatian said.

“What! Fucking three! System, you asshole! The fuck is wrong with you?” Jack yelled.

“Please don’t talk like that to the system!” Telepatian said.

“Holy hell. Three skill points must’ve taken you forever to get. I’m sorry about that. Please don’t tell me any more secrets. Just stick to normal mana training. So far it’s been fine with that,” Jack said.

“O-Okay. This kinda sucks. I was planning on buying something cool. By the way, I have a challenge for you. You wanna do something kinda crazy?” Telepatian said.
