Hard-Life Mod: Patreon Edition Update!

Hello, fellow Half-Life enthusiasts!

As promised I pushed a new update to a branch (I know... a little late... i'm sorry) Work has been very hectic at the end of the year and I hope you are all spending some family time rather than getting killed in Hard-Life.

We're thrilled to share some exciting updates for Hard-Life, including a fresh Patreon Edition Update that brings you deeper into the action. For our amazing supporters, we've added a new beta password: "whoops404isunusual". Use it to access exclusive beta content and help us shape the future of Hard-Life!

What's New?

We’re keeping a few surprises under wraps, but rest assured, some significant new features are now live. One of the standout additions is a powerful new system that utilizes "mapname_gpe.txt" files. When placed in your map folder, the game will automatically spawn a game_player_equip entity. This entity equips players with a preset loadout when entering a level. Whether you're a modder or a fan of Steamworks mods leveraging the vanilla Hard-Life DLLs, you’ll find this addition incredibly useful for creating immersive experiences.

- Fixes for trigger_teleport
- Fixes for crash on bradley tank explosion in 2a5 maps
- Fixes for health pickup auto-replacing your weapon
- Fixes for game_player_equip issues in some maps
- Fixes for Apache shooting way too fast
- Fixes for turrets not turning off correctly when using the map entities / levers
- Fixes for MaxAmmoCarry logs giving bad characters causing game to crash
- Fixes and further implementation of "Forget System"

Known issues

 -Not all classic maps have correct mapname_gpe.txt as of yet.

What is forget system?

Basically how Half-Life monsters never forget that they've targeted a player until they are dead..

This has been changed to have a timeout so it is a bit more suspenseful giving the player the option to hide and come back with a different plan or hopefully "Upper Hand"

Introducing monster_tank

Brace yourselves for the debut of the new monster_tank, a currently a low-definition Bradley . It’s been integrated into the game and can be found in one of the later maps. We won’t spoil the fun by revealing its exact location—finding it is up to you! Let us know when you stumble across it in your adventures. It has similar properties to a sentry at this time but will be worked on to do more soon. Just keep in mind... WIP as always.

This update represents another step forward in delivering a unique Half-Life experience. There’s plenty more in store, so stay tuned for even more surprises in future updates!
