Fallout 4 Perks
Added 2025-06-17 16:00:17 +0000 UTCI have a habit of starting a lot of side projects. The last few days, I've been brainstorming some perks for Fallout 4.
One thing I have learned over the years is that people find FO4's default perk chart pretty boring. There's a lot of +% damage increase stuff, which is both necessary and bland. A lot of it can be consolidated.
For example, I have this one here that basically combines Iron Fist, Basher, and Big Leagues:
Unstoppable Strength
- Rank 1: Gun bashing, unarmed attacks, and melee weapons do 25% more damage.
- Rank 2: Gun bashing, unarmed attacks, and melee weapons have a 10% chance to stagger enemies.
- Rank 3: Gun bashing, unarmed attacks, and melee weapons do 50% more damage, and have a 10% chance to cripple your enemies' limbs.
- Rank 4: Gun bashing, unarmed attacks, and melee weapons hit all enemies in front of you, and have a chance to instantly decapitate your enemies.
- Rank 5: Gun bashing, unarmed attacks, and melee weapons all do double damage. Unarmed Criticals in V.A.T.S. will paralyze your opponent.
This obviously combines similar perks into a more unified one, and also frees up two more slots for something original and unique.
I have a number of ideas like this, some of which I've already made (the example above is literally just the first one in the chart), but I thought I'd ask anyway:
What do you like/dislike about Fallout 4's perks, and/or do you have any ideas for perks/abilities you'd like to see?

I'm not currently an FO4 player. But I was. I also made a perk overhaul way back, so like I said before...crazy respect, because I know its a nightmare........that said, i like your ideas. No need for 3 different melee perks. It's boring. Good luck with it!

Unlock chameleon module. 4) Unlock optical camo module (chameleon but you can move). Just an example. I would love to see perks that provide a specialized crafting progression for a specialized playstyle, probably a dozen directions you could go with that

2025-06-17 17:56:54 +0000 UTCNot an FO4 player right now. But I once made my own perk overhaul for both FO4 and Starfield. I know just how restrictive the FO4 perk system is...and it really is............but what i would've loved, we're perks to encourage specializing: maybe you take less damage while firing heavy weapons. Or gain an adrenaline rush of damage resistance and movement speed while aiming rifles...Perks that both do things, and encourage class-like builds or focus.
