The future of Tempus
Added 2025-02-09 07:07:13 +0000 UTCHey all. Haven't checked in for a bit. Let's talk about what's been going on.
New Tempus update is in the works. What started as a simple project to add a Community Shaders profile has, perhaps predictably, blown up into a much larger update. Playing the list on stream has honestly just made me unhappy with certain things, so I keep wanting to go change various aspects to make it better and more fun.
I say predictably because...well, I have a tendency to do this. It's just never enough, you know?
Anyway, if you don't tune into my streams (which you should, 2:30 pm est every day on twitch except thursdays), you haven't learned the latest and hottest gossip yet. I have a feeling this is something that will be both surprising and delightful for many people. I hope so, anyway.
Next version of Tempus will be using BFCO.
I've spent so much time converting and editing and prioritizing and conditioning animations lately. It's finally, finally starting to look half decent. And it's a lot of fun, too. Most importantly, combat is just...better. It looks better, it feels better, you can be a total badass and block a chain of combos or just go full offensive mode and tornado your way through enemies. Super cool stuff.
Anyway, just wanted to spread the word a bit. Thanks for all your support here and on discord and twitch and youtube and wherever else.
Of course, I gotta do a little plug at the end here. Just want to say, I do appreciate you all, paid and free members alike. As many of you know, I quit my job in November, making this is my primary income source now, so I would like to simply ask: if you're willing to kick in an extra $1 or $3 per month to help offset the bills here, it would be amazingly beneficial.
Another great way to support me though: if you've got Amazon Prime, you can subscribe to my Twitch channel over on twitch.tv/livelymods. It costs you nothing!
But don't worry. It's not required, and I'll keep doing this either way. Ain't nothin' getting paywalled or anything like that. I'd go work at a shitty fast food chain before I paywalled something to make money. (note: that's not a dig at fast food employees, I worked in restaurants for 17 years, it's a soul-destroying business).
Have a lovely day! I gotta get back to conditioning some scimitars and spears...

I already have it, which is why I was confused on why it was taking me to the app page.

2025-02-21 01:15:56 +0000 UTCI feel like an idiot, having trouble getting into your discord. Everytime I click the link it keeps redirecting me to the App Store for discord. Anybody have a potential fix?

2025-02-21 00:30:07 +0000 UTCNo worries. You saw what I’m doing today anyway and how…inept I am with it, haha.

2025-02-11 04:19:05 +0000 UTCI haven't been playing tempus or Opus for a while, but I still do appreciate the work you put into either or them. <3

2025-02-10 19:43:34 +0000 UTCMan, so sorry, been a whirlwind for the last few weeks must have missed it. Have a bit of time today and am going to try to get a Handy TrainiNG and HCaS v4 posted in the next few days. Have a few things for Tempus but want to wait until I can test in CS/ENB to see if they are still required

2025-02-10 16:29:50 +0000 UTCCombat, mainly. Got boring and sluggish and repetitive. Also some of the city stuff, notably performance in Whiterun.

2025-02-10 13:21:11 +0000 UTCI didn't care for combat, mainly. It felt boring and sluggish and repetitive. As for the comments about optional mods I could just ignore - yeah, maybe. But there's also the fact that those things I leave in and ignore still need to be patched. Take your Inigo example. I have to patch things like mountains, the windhelm bridge, location edits, dialogue triggers. It's actually quite a bit of work with all the landscape and city overhauls. I know it sounds easy to say "keep the mod but just don't use it," but it ends up being more work for me. More work for something I don't want.

2025-02-10 08:04:43 +0000 UTCcurrently trying to figure out the best keybinds for the new attack systems. controller support comes after that.

2025-02-10 08:02:41 +0000 UTCThanks for the update, Lively. Used my prime sub for yah. If there's controller support for it, cool. If not, I'll probably just stick with the current installation of TM I have.

2025-02-10 06:39:46 +0000 UTCI definitely agree. Optional content should stay as long as it's not causing problems to the general gameplay, performance or stability.

2025-02-10 05:41:46 +0000 UTCI definitely wouldn't want others to miss out on those followers. That's fair to say. One one hand, those are 2 mod slots. But yeah, a lot of folks do love those followers. That's fair. Thanks for taking the time and continuing to tweak and improve the list!

2025-02-09 19:35:49 +0000 UTCThe cool thing about followers you don't like is... you don't have to pick them up. You can just let Lucien chill in the tavern and Auri sit in her treehouse all day. Just saying this because there ARE people that love those followers, and I'm not a fan of suggesting removing content that can be completely ignored if you so choose, rather than taking away that choice from players. That's one reason I was a little disappointed that Lively removed Inigo. Sure, his personal quest was left unfinished, but many players like him as a follower, so why remove him when you can just not pick him up?

2025-02-09 17:14:20 +0000 UTCCant wait! Been looking to make a run at skyrim again and this sounds really fun to do it with. Appreciate the work!

2025-02-09 15:40:41 +0000 UTCBFCO looks cool. I'm curious what it is about the list tou aren't liking. Myself, I could do without Auri and Lucien, and wouldn't mind larger cities. On the other hand, city mods are often compatibility nightmares. Best of luck;eager to see how this goes.

2025-02-09 14:16:52 +0000 UTCHey Lively! I haven't been able to watch your streams. What exactly were you unhappy with about the modlist?

2025-02-09 12:15:31 +0000 UTCReally stoked for both CS and BFCO. Love the list already but I have a feeling I'll love it even more in the next update. Much love!

2025-02-09 11:50:51 +0000 UTCI am excited that you chose to add in BFCO to the list with "Lively" refinements. Can't wait to see what the new updated list will look like and how it will play. I have been a fan of BFCO and what it was trying to achieve as a mod baseline for combat. Thanks for all the hard work and the update.

2025-02-09 09:31:10 +0000 UTCMuch love Lively. I lurk a lot because I'm not currently on a Skyrim binge but your continued passion and dedication for your lists shows through in the sheer quality of them. Thanks for what you do for our community
