Most of the time was spent on background rendering stuff. Learning to write better shaders and trying to fix some visual glitches. I still can't get the shadows right, they look very pixelated no matter what I try. I think the root of the problem is using Universal Render Pipeline instead of the High Definition Render Pipeline.
Back when I started I opted for URP, reasoning that the graphics would be stylised and I wasn't going for ultra realism, but now I reckon that if 'looking good' is an important part of your game, then use HDRP. Feels a bit late to change everything over now and I've already spent a lot of time on this background stuff so I'm just gonna move on.
On top of that I'm stuggling with a dying computer, even as I'm typing this out it keeps stalling. Probably a good idea to use the patreon money for an upgrade.
Anyway, additions in this update:
fleshlight portal trap
self-suck portal trap
new shaders for characters
outline shader to draw subtle outlines on everything
The map above will show you where the new traps are, they appear in levels 3 and 4 (the green and blue areas).
There's probably a bunch of bugs so let me know.
