Apple 30% "tax"
Added 2024-08-17 15:17:24 +0000 UTCJust a reminder: if you use Patreon app on any of Apple's devices, starting Nov. 2024, you will pay 30% more for your new subscriptions[1]. Either use the app on the other platforms or just simply use web[2].
As it says in Patreon's article:
Before we go any further, we want to be crystal clear about one thing: Apple’s fee will not impact your existing members. It will only affect new memberships purchased in the iOS app from November onward.
So you, my awesome and generous subscribers, should be OK. But if that was me, I'd just stop using the Apple's app.
[1] - In case if creator opt to absorb said fee, your payment will stay the same, but I doubt anyone will do that because fuck this bullshit. It's like a taxi driver will charge you additional 30% of your groceries price while driving you back home.
[2] - I'm not sure if this fee will occur if you use Apple Pay in web version, be careful.
