Why the hell is Xie Lian telling lies on top of lies, who is he protecting? What is he trying so hard to hide??

I went looking through the second book and found that part. It's wild that THIS was too spicy and had to be cut! --- The three ran up the stairs, and Xie Lian fished out his dice and rolled once more. He didn't know what number he rolled out in the dark, only that before them he heard a soft clack. A crack peeked open and light seeped through. Xie Lian pushed at the door and was just wondering whether he'd have the chance to take Lang Ying away too, when unexpectedly, the first step he took was hollow. The moment he felt himself fall forward, he cried, "Don't come out!" Xie Lian somersaulted through the air and fell on something hard. He felt brief relief that it wasn't a bladed mountain or a sea of fire that he'd fallen into--until he looked up and realized that a bladed mountain or a sea of fire might've been better. Hua Cheng's exceptionally handsome face was only inches away from his, his brows raised high and his gaze locked on him. When the stone door opened this time, it dumped him directly on top of Hua Cheng! He'd fallen into the armory! At the moment, Hua Cheng was sitting on the grand chair of the armory, composedly wiping the scimitar Eming. Even when someone suddenly fell into his lap from above, he'd only moved his hands away and stopped cleaning without any air of surprise. He gazed calmly at Xie Lian, as if waiting for an explanation. Of course, Xie Lian had none and could only lie in his lap and stare back boldly.

Okay I think I get the thing about ghosts and immortals now, Hua Cheng is a misunderstood baddie, people just hate him cause they can't be him 😂. Omg 8 seasons??? that's crazy. So there's more?? Can't even imagine what more is gonna happen if they're not even willing to give us Xie Lian dropping on Hua Cheng's lap😭

2024-01-29 01:31:16 +0000 UTCI need to reread the books, but from what I remember and understand is that the gods are generally immortal but their physical bodies can still take damage and can basically "die" temporarily, though it heals and they "come back to life" afterward. But for a short time, they seem exactly like a dead human corpse -- no breathing, heart stopped, all of it. So when Qi Rong talked about Xie Lian dying after being stabbed, he meant that sort of death, from Xie Lian's physical body taking extreme damage. There IS a permanent death for gods though: when they lose all of their followers and temples and no one believes in them or prays to them anymore, and they basically fade away forever. So when it talked about Hua Cheng wiping out 33 gods (they talked about it in season 1), it was the permanent kind where they lost all of their temples and followers because he destroyed all of their temples after they lost to him in a fight. (The 33 had agreed beforehand to give up their god title and power if they lost to him, but they didn't keep their word after they lost... so he forced the title and power out of them himself. He's terrifying and I love him. This is why Heaven is so scared of him.) Each of these seasons are a book, so season 2 is book 2, but this pacing feels... off from the book? I'm not sure how to describe it. It's not impossible to follow, but it feels harder to follow than the book. Also with the seasons coming out so far apart, a lot of little details are definitely hard to remember from season 1, and even the smallest details can tie into a bigger mystery/reveal later on, so it can get extremely confusing. Like the person who asked Xie Lian to take care of the bandaged up kid -- it was the girl who died during the vengeful ghost bride fight, the one who Xie Lian buried right before he saw the disease spots on the bandaged (ghost) boy's face. She had been watching out for and taking care of him before she died, and she was scared he wouldn't have anyone now. But then the ghost boy got scared and ran off and disappeared until he was found in Ghost City in book/season 2. The disease on his face is an old one that's no longer around, so everyone who knows what the disease is and sees it, thinks that the boy must have died a long time ago. ...Semi-random, and I wonder if it's censorship for them not including it this way, but when Xie Lian fell from the ceiling into the armory after rolling the dice, in the book he landed directly into Hua Cheng's lap if I remember correctly. (I hope I'm not just insane and made that up in my head. But I could swear he landed in Hua Cheng's lap.) In this, he landed on the floor in front of Hua Cheng's chair. I wonder how much they're going to censor later on... (There's 8 books, so in theory there should be 8 seasons. There's... definitely some things that I'm imagining will be removed or made more ambiguous.) I'm sorry that I'm rambling, haha. I think this is my first comment on your stuff.
