[Work Status post]
Added 2024-05-13 13:41:22 +0000 UTCThis post will describe what I'm currently working on and what is planned for the future. Perhaps later, I'll find a better place for this mini-blog.
I try very hard not to disappoint you all, so if you have any criticism not only about the module, but also about my actions or anything like that, I would really like to hear them to become better. And a huge thank you for your support, it’s realy means a lot to me
New Module:
I can't wait to start working on new modules, but first, I want to polish "Visual Novel Dialogues" — add important features, ensure that all known bugs are fixed, and at least add starter sets with Locations and Portraits. I hope this won't take me more than a week or two.
Module "Visual Novel Dialogues":
Currently in development:
The "packs" system, allowing to collect portraits and locations into packs that can be easily shared with each other. This will allow me to start working on packs with Locations and Portraits for adventures, and for you to share packs between your Worlds or with other people
[✔] Ability to use tokens as default Portrait images
[✔] Add full functionality to the player list in the top right corner of the Visual Novel window
Backgrounds for Portraits in the form of "cards" (frames or something, idk), allowing you to use full images for Portraits instead of cropped backgroundless images or tokens and make it look nice
[✔] Finally remove dependency on Simple Calendar :)
Ability to disable clocks (and other UI elements) in settings if you want
Planned in the near future (this+next week?):
Discord integration
"Starter kit" with Locations and Portraits that I use in my own games :)
First full set of Locations and Portraits for some adventure
Sets of images for sliders (custom UI for the Visual Novel window)
Ability to link FoudnryVTT Scenes and music to Locations
Update README/mini-guide doc
Scaling and shifting of background images
Ability to change the sound of requests
Buttons for randomly selecting weather and temperature for Locations
Changes to the tag-filter "system" for Portraits
Setting alternative images for Portraits and Locations with the ability to quickly switch them
Emotions.
Various UI color themes
In addition, many more features are planned, but they are not a priority and will be implemented as soon as possible.

This is a really great module! I'm looking forward to see how it (and your future projects) grow. One thing that I think might be neat is an option to add a slight dim over the regular Foundry screen when "Hide background" is selected, so that there's a bit better contrast for the VN display. Another would be a per-portrait toggle as to whether the title goes after or before a name. I'm super looking forward to all the future features as well.

2024-06-14 23:58:07 +0000 UTCWhat do you mean by "Audio/Video window"? Some kind of other module thing? You can change the z-index of the VN window in the module settings to try to place it UNDER your "Audio/Video window", but it all depends on what z-index that window has

2024-06-02 01:04:55 +0000 UTCHello, thanks for this nice module! I'm realizing the location backgrounds end up going over the whole window, including the Audio/Video window with player videos. Is there any way to preserve the A/V sidebar?

2024-06-01 11:27:48 +0000 UTCGreat module! Not sure where to report bugs but when you create a new weather and then try to add another one, the system simply does not open the creation dialogue. Even after exiting and re-entering edit mode. The only solution I've found is to reload foundry completey, then it will work normally (once) Some other suggestions: - Have the option to upload animated (webm) backgrounds - Have the option to upload .webp files (more size-friendly) - Option to move the editing window with click & drag - Ability to press ESC and close the editing window mode - Option to have the active portrait being displayed on the right instead of the left-side of the screen - Option to type the weather value instead of a slider - Option to use VFX (lightning effects from foundry, weather effects, etc)
