Value Grouping & How to Create your own Value References for Lighting

A little surprise here, but I thought I'd share a quick tutorial on one of the biggest concepts and strategies for making illustrations that I am including in my course!
The key is to keep your values in the right places! Group them! Make good looking shapes!
Using 2, 3, and 5 values alone, you can very accurately depict any image, in any lighting scenario. All you need to do is do a bit of planning and/or get some references to keep you aligned as you work!
In this video, I share a bit of how I am checking my own work as I illustrate. It's much more raw and impromptu but I kind of like it....It feels like you guys are with me during the creation process of my artwork! I hope you all enjoy it as well.
I have also attached the example Images that I generated from Midjourney AI. You will also find several other examples of what I am talking about with the Posterization with professional artwork and photographs to give you an idea of how to start "seeing" value.
Working on getting more stuff into the drive as we speak! Got tons of footage rendering and churning out.

unfortunately, there is no way to do that. But there's no need to purchase extra stuff! My goal is to share everything that I use at my disposal. I will make clear what is necessary in the context of the course.
2023-11-09 14:41:00 +0000 UTCSeriously Josh, I’m concerned after watching your values video, if I need to and/or have to purchase additional materials. How do I make the posterize effect with just procreate? Please clarify that. Thanks in advance

2023-11-09 02:33:51 +0000 UTCI thought this was going to be a procreate centered video with the up coming course. So I’m a bit disappointed. Will the course be in procreate (100%) ? If not, and it’s like this short video, I may need to get a refund.
