Woow so interesting that all the programming just stops!! And yess it did seem much younger I'm sure.

listened to your pod......a few comments. It IS (or has been) a tradition in korea, not really bc people have watched it for years or necessarily seek it out but its really the only thing on. ALL programming during chuseok just stops full stop. That being said, ISAC has been dying ratingswise for years now and companies these days i think keep going with it for the viral moments, not necessarily for the television ratings As far as group to group interactions.....also realize that MANY of these idols have known each other for years and years and years (whether having gone to the same academies or schools), it quite literally is (especially for more popular groups) the only time they can see friends and actually have time to talk since they're all just sitting there. As a die hard TripleS fan, I had no clue Dahyun from TripleS and Jimin from IZNA were such good friends and used to train together and yeah, during the weekend shows there's literally no time to interact backstage and even with something like the H2H/Kiikii collab.....there was still WORK involved As far as dating.....it's like you said...they're ALL hot teenagers, of course its going to happen On the injury front......they've really curtailed the events that can cause MAJOR injury (with the exception of the running relay race which they'll never get rid of). I guess maybe the newer dance sport event but all the girls who participate in that are dancer dancers (a la Xiaoting). Ssireum is oddly SUPER safe bc you and your opponent are connected at all times. Sumo has a WAY higher injury rate overall and that matt is basically a bouncy castle lol At the height of 3rd gen was when ISAC was the most popular and had the craziest spread of events. it's funny.....I've watched it for years now and what was just broadcast was a SHELL of what they used to make the idols go through and definitely seemed WAY more loose and relaxed compared to the past. This was the first year I noticed, though, how YOUNG it has gotten. The most senior groups there were what....Cravity? Kepler?

Truee that makes a lot of sense and I may have to watch the episode at some point!

Actually record holders of ISAC, at their time, were not that big. BTS rose to fame quite late in 2016, and Seventeen not until 2019 did they start to become 3rd-gen representative I believe. And despite having lots of hits throughout their career, Sistar back in 2010, 2011 was still a small group. But you know what the common point is among these 3 groups? They worked their ASS off. BTS and Seventeen, no doubt, we all know how they are as idols. Sistar back in the day only focused on winning, did their 200% in every single game because they thought that was the only way to get known. They had nothing but ambition so stuff like flirting or romance were out of their knowledge lol. Again, you can find those funny stories in Zip Daesung episode.

I think the reason why YG never let their artists go to ISAC because the high-up are even more scared of dating scandals than other companies lol. Btw, if you're interested, you can check out Zip Dae-sung's episode with 2nd-gen female idols like Sistar Bora, T-ara Hyomin or Kara Young-ji, they talked a lot of fun things including early ISAC days. So, when ISAC was initially formed in 2010, I guess Big Bang and 2NE1 were already on top of their career so they don't need this exposure. Starting with Winner and IKON, the dating ban within the company was totally strict, they and Blackpink (still trainee) couldn't even exchange greetings. You can imagine how panic YG staffs can get if their idols are present in such big event. I don't know if that culture is different nowadays tho.
