World of Street Woman Fighter ep 8

WHAT a WEIRD episode lol the editing was REALLY throwing me off for a min.

They took away a lot of the preparation moments that get you invested in the results which was a shame.

Eventually I got in to it and I started to have a good time. It just feels like some of these missions were last minute and missing so much of the magic we've had in previous seasons. Like the interactions are just so minimal and it takes away so much of the enjoyment.

I'm happy motiv has gotten this far and the battles were fun!

Enjoy!

Excited to see you react to the finale! I wish mnet was more prepared when coming into this season as a global program like they were promoting it. I think the YouTube voting was a weird choice or if they were staying with that system, judge opinions should have weighed more. The editing team prioritizing drama and taking sound bits to build their own narratives was frustrating too. A lot of the time those audio clips weren't even complete thoughts or statements from the competitors and wasted time that could've shown more dancing lol. The final elimination battle had the audience leave at the end because people were taking pictures and videos of the battle and posting it online. This is obviously an issue because the episodes aren't live so it would spoil results of which crew made it to the finals.

I honestly don't know what happened this season, but we were all confused with the missions and changes. I don't know if they replaced the editing team, but this season just didn't give the same feeling as the other ones. Even street dance girl fighter was so much more cohesive and better than this. It's such a lost opportunity, especially when we have so many talented women who decided to travel to Korea just for this.

Okay...so I expected a lot more from this season (I have no idea why, it's mnet we're dealing with, and I should have known they were gonna be on bs). They marketed the global season in such a grandiose way, but it felt just like any other season. Everything just fell a little flat. The girls are incredibly talented, and fun (you'd never know it cause they cut so much out), but so many of the episodes felt like a task to watch. The editing, the rehashed drama, all the voting being through YouTube views, the fans being extra weird, the lack of variety in challenges, and the lack of focus on DANCING, all added to this in my opinion. Like you're telling me in these 2 + hour episodes only 30% of it is dancing? All these battlers and the only time we get them is during the No Respect episodes and eliminations? All this amazing talent and we waste screen time on drama that has been brought up every single scene? And of course, Mnet doesn't know how to be global for real. Like yes, it's based in Korea, but I would have loved for so many of the standards to not be centered around Kpop, or just with Korean viewers in mind. If it was a regular season, not meant to be catered around global inclusivity, I would not be complaining this much at all. But they were the ones saying "Oh, it'll be available all around the world! We are doing it big! Not your typical season blah blah blah." The episodes didn't air on streaming sites until a week later. The live streams only had subs for the first two episodes. They didn't accommodate for the foreign teams at all. Like, overall this was just a very disorganized season. I also would have loved to see the South African, Filipina, and Ghanaian teams they darn near promised were involved. I'm just so disappointed, because the buildup to this season was SO FUN. No hate to the contestants at all, they are amazing. So sorry for the long comment, just had to get that off my chest. 🥲
