October '25 Update

Hi guys,

SSR2 Alpha is on the way.

This is a new multi-axis machine that combines up-and-down strokes with twist.

I've been resisting calls for a twist module for SSR1. These can be heavy and awkward, but the main reason is I really don't like the flying leads needed to hook up a twist motor electrically. Historically the leads to the twist servos on the OSR2 and SR6 were always a pain and failed regularly.

SSR2 (the Silent Stroker Robot, 2-axis) is a totally new device. It mounts just like an OSR2 or SR6 would, but it uses a unique drive system with two brushless motors in parallel to achieve a similar stroke rate to SSR1 with twist at the same time. Best of all, because it's all done using a belt drive there are no wires being flexed every time the receiver moves.

There's some new cool new Tempest tech in this design. Obviously there's the dual motor drive–derived from my linear actuators–and the twist gearing, but also the twist bearings, which proved surprisingly challenging to make quiet. There's nothing more complicated on this device than on anything else I've released before though. The design emphasis, as always, is on making this device easy to build and quiet.

As you can see I have a working prototype now. I still have some way to go however before I can even call this an Alpha design. That will be my work for the rest of this month!

I want to put this design out on 1st November on the Maker ($8) tier. I've already issued the list of parts of course. This will be subject to how the design work comes along. A still have some (minor) design issues that I want to at least look into.

Now that i have something to show I will of course be doing a livestream to my Supporter ($2) tier and above in the next few days.

Of course, if you can't wait and you want to get a closer view of the my work as it's happening consider becoming a Benefactor ($16 tier). I post regular updates on a special area of the Discord server, and of course there's my monthly newsletter in which I go into my work in detail.

Happy Building!

Hope it will also come in an ergonomic handheld version?

Posted the parts list where?

Yomama

had the same prob

will this version be able to support a full sized flashlight at faster speeds, the ssr1 beta was no in my case.

Deathless Reaper

Well the twist is integrated rather than being a module. It should be able to take any feelstroker or fleshlight sleeve though.

TempestVR

Can this version be modified for large girth? Or is the Twist module a limitation ?

Mod

This is exactly what I need. Looking forward to it
