September Release - The RingNozzle

Hi guys,

This is, of all things, a ring-shaped shower nozzle with oscillating internal pulses. For fun reasons of course.

Sometimes I have wacky, out-there ideas. In this case what I wanted to was to get a little bit of experience printing using PETG (which is what I recommend you print these parts from). A dumb nozzle, with a screw-on thread fitting was an interesting exercise, but more fun was to produce an internal configuration that uses a spinning impeller to rapidly cycle which sections of the nozzle are firing.

This release is a fun extra as I am currently working on some longer term projects. I’m unlikely to pursue this tech any further as it was just a fun break from the brushless multi-axis design work I have going on in the background. I’ve included two cap designs that should cover the majority of use cases (apparently a US shower fitting is different to the one used elsewhere in the rest of the world - the things I learn in this job!) I’m also pretty sure that I haven’t yet discovered the optimal internal hole pattern for this thing, so I’ve also included a full STEP file for those modders out there who want to have a go at improving it!

Have fun!

Tempest

Very interesting side project! I asked ChatGPT what was best design for the holes... it was the longest "thinking" I've ever seen it do! Result here... https://chatgpt.com/s/t_68b9db1402fc8191b0ad2a2135b8a612 ...some great advice and maths there... how you put this into the design I don't know... I do know having flat rear walls with a simple pinhole is not optimal... most pressure is hitting all the internal walls instead of being forced out the hole!

So, how does the banana washer feel?
