May Release - SR6 '25
Added 2025-05-01 22:59:00 +0000 UTCThis is the hardware release for May, in which I have given the SR6 some long overdue love and attention.
I have updated the base and frame to use M3x5.7mm and M4x8.1mm heat-set inserts in place of the M3 and M4 nuts in the original Beta design. I have also updated the lid and arm parts to use M3x12mm countersunk bolts, which I think look much better aesthetically and should be less prone to coming loose.
I looked at replacing the M4 nuts in the bearing links with inserts, but after some experiments I actually found that screwing the bearings directly into the plastic, just like the bolts on the arms and receivers, worked far better. I have therefore updated all of the bearing-based links with this simplified design.
