Discord & a free python script

Hi guys,

Here's a free python script, and a shameless plug for my discord server.

The last few days I've been working on easy ways of integrating the fleshlight vibro into the Romeo's motor controllers. We don't yet have much TCode content out there that outputs commands on the two vibration channels that the OSR2 already supports. To test my creation I therefore decided to sit down and write a standalone python script that would put the OSR2+ through its paces, vibration and all.

This is the result: it's a random stroker script that controls the OSR2+ in thrust, pitch, roll and vibration (L0, R1, R2, V0). It has a lot of parameter randomisation and automatically switches between several motion types. If you want to run it you will need python (and pyserial) installed. I've fully commented the code, so that hopefully those of you who want to have a play with python can pick it apart and have a go yourselves.

This gives me the perfect opportunity to promote my discord server, because this is exactly the sort of thing that you will find on there. We now have a great little community of users swapping tips on 3D printing, which servos to use, sharing pictures their builds and so on. We also have exchanges where members are sharing their own code and build files.

You can get access to the server with my $2 tier.

I will hopefully be sharing my Vibro mod soon, along with another little gizmo that my patrons already know about. May isn't far away now!

Happy building.

I spent the time to figure out how to install python, pyserial, and everything else just to bump into an issue. In IDLE you will need to change the scripts output to the COM port your arduino is running on. Had me stumped for a minute. HOWEVER I am a huuuge fan on this script, and this process has been fun an educational. I have been putting off assembling my osr2+ for weeks for some reason, and let me just say that today I'm glad I did. While I'm here, what are the current and future options for non-vertamate users other than randomized scripts? While VAM looks enticing I feel like I'm lacking the ideal hardware.
